Family Promise Metrowest provides essential services to
families in need throughout the Metrowest region thanks
to the dedication and commitment of our housing partners.

WHAT WE DO
Family Promise Metrowest’s
mission is to transform the lives of
families with children that are
facing homelessness by mobilizing
a diverse community to provide
shelter, education, and
comprehensive support.
We serve families that:
are without a permanent home
or are facing housing loss
have at least one child under
the age of 18 living with them
are legal Massachusetts
residents
Our approach to addressing family
homelessness and housing
instability is simple: We believe
motivated families can move
themselves out of poverty and
establish stable, sustainable homes
if given the resources, guidance,
and encouragement to set and
work toward goals.

OUR PROGRAMS
Our programs offer families intensive, long-term coaching paired
with targeted subsidies, giving them the time and support they
need to change their lives.
Shelter Program
Our Shelter program offers safe shelter, meals, clothing,
and supportive, goal-focused coaching to families with
children that have lost their housing.
SAIL Program
The SAIL program supports families that have graduated
from shelter and moved back into apartments, providing
subsidies and ongoing family coaching to ensure their
successful transition back to independent living.
LIFE Program
The LIFE program offers homelessness prevention and
shelter diversion services by providing funding to address
rent in arrears or other housing costs in conjunction with
family coaching to address additional challenges.
Steps to Success Program
The Steps to Success Program offers education and
employment support to adults and teens and provides
scholarships to current and alumni individuals that are
pursuing higher education.

OUR HOUSING SUPPORTS
To help families find and keep sustainable housing in the community,
we provide the following supports:
Coaching
We provide up to one year of regular,
individualized coaching for every family,
helping them set and work toward
financial and housing goals.
Subsidies
We offer monthly rental subsidies to
families after leaving shelter, or one-time
financial subsidies to help pay for
overdue rent or a security deposit,
Tenancy Education
We offer a six-class series on how to be a
good tenant to families across all our
programs. This class is required for all
families exiting shelter.
Financial Education
Our curriculum-based financial literacy
class, which is required for all families,
provides training on budgeting, taxes,
and other essential topics.

OUR HOUSING PARTNERSHIPS
FPM relies on trusted relationships with
property owners to help families find safe,
affordable housing. If you own or manage
residential rental properties, here's how you
can help:
Consider leasing your units to a family in
one of our programs.
Help educate us on your expectations and
needs as a landlord.
Spread the word about our organization
and families to other landlords you know.
Here are some of the benefits our partnership can offer to you:
We can refer reliable, responsible tenants to apply for your open
units.
Our coaches meet regularly with the family to address
budgeting and housing goals, and resolve any challenges.
With a broad local network of housing, social service, and legal
agencies, we are a resource to help address your needs.
