2023 Walk Program

WELCOME TO OUR 2023
WALK TO END HOMELESSNESS!
Thank you for participating in this year’s walkathon! My committee
and I are thrilled to be holding the walk in person this year. It has
always been an event we look forward to, bringing so many of our
new and longtime friends together to celebrate the work we are all
doing in our community to assist families facing homelessness.
We’ve worked hard this year to create an atmosphere like a family
reunion, with food, games, activities, prizes, and of course our walk
to raise funds and awareness for our programs. Please make sure
you take time to get your team photos done so we have them to share
on our social media.
I want to thank all of you, but especially our Team Captains who
organized their teams and generated enthusiasm among their
teammates. I also need to give a big shout-out to the 2023 Walk
Committee for all their dedication and hard work to make this year’s
event possible. We know this is a busy time of year for many of you!
We also deeply appreciate the support of our business community.
Because of your collective compassion and dedication to our mission,
we were able to serve a record number of 83 families including 137
children in 2023. Please know how much your support means to our
families.
Thank you for joining us on this walk and giving our families the
hope of a brighter future.

ABOUT
FAMILY PROMISE METROWEST
Based in Natick, Massachusetts, Family Promise Metrowest serves
low- and moderate-income families with children that are
homeless or at risk of homelessness. We offer a community
approach to addressing the challenges of housing insecurity,
bringing together a diverse community of volunteers, donors,
congregations, and businesses to create real change.
We offer four programs that address a continuum of housing and
stabilization needs. Our Shelter program, which is based in our
Day Center in Natick, offers temporary housing paired with
intensive coaching to families that have lost their home. Our SAIL
program (Sustaining Achievements for Independent Living)
supports families with rental subsidies and continued coaching
for one year as they transition from our shelter program back into
apartments in the community. Our LIFE program (Local Initiative
for Family Empowerment) helps families facing eviction or shelter
entry remain in safe housing by providing subsidies to pay for
rent in arrears, security deposits, or moving expenses, paired with
coaching support. And finally, the Steps to Success program offers
our families educational and training opportunities, subsidies,
and referrals to help them increase their life skills and improve
their employment and income potential.
We are one of over 200 Family Promise affiliates across the
country, and as of April 2023, we’ve helped almost 500 families
including over 800 children create and maintain safe, stable, and
sustainable housing. To learn more about us, see the last page in
