Acommunity and recruitment evening forthe Rangiora andKaiapoi Community Patrol,alongwithNorth Canterbury Neighbourhood Support, is being heldonTuesday,June 21 for all thoseinterested in lending ahand to keepcommunities safe. Rangiora Community Patrolleader Chris Barkersaysmorepeoplewill helpboost the number of hours patrols can be out,and allow acloser eye to be kept on areas where cameras are in use. The eveningatthe RangioraTown Hall’s first floor function roomfrom 7.30pm, is aimed at showingpeople how they cansupport the community and policetoreducecrime. After engagement with the Board, we have developed aproposed enrolment scheme for Kaiapoi Borough School under the Education and Training Act 2020. As part of this process, we are consulting with the school’s community and with people living in the area for which the school is areasonably convenient school. Under this scheme, students will be able to enrol ifthey live within the proposed home zone.
