A windy weekend at Culham saw the first podium debuts for the 2022 season. Reigning<br />

Champions Tommy Searle riding for the Crendon Fastrack Honda team, in the MX1 class and<br />

Conrad Mewse on his privateer Stebbings KTM team in the MX2 class took top step at the podium.<br />

We saw all the youth classes also compete at Culham where Marty Spires lead the 65cc class,<br />

Robbie Daly in the SW85 class, GRT Impact KTM Billy Askew leading the BW85's, Team green<br />

Kawasaki rider in the 125cc class and Tyler Westcott leading the 250cc class.<br />

Whitby<br />

WHITBY<br />

Whitby was a notable round of the 2022 season, where we saw<br />

two riders crowned in their respective Championships.This again<br />

was another windy and wet weekend . The MX1 class was left<br />

ticking over to the last round to decide the winner, similar to the<br />

21 season the title sits between Tommy Searle and Harri Kullas.<br />

Conrad Mewse wrapped up the MX2 class leading 53 points<br />

ahead GRT Impact KTM rider Jamie Carpenter. In the 250cc class<br />

Tyler Westcott came out on top ahead of Jak Taylor on the Team<br />

Green Kawasaki bike. Charlie Heyman also stormed the 125cc<br />

class at Whitby. The BW85 class has been dominated by Billy<br />

Askew, this was a similar story at Whitby. It was a battle<br />

between Hayden Statt and Robbie Daly in the SW85 class,<br />

Hayden Statt came across on top at Whitby. Casey Lister was<br />

back on top of the podium in the 65cc class.

About the circuit<br />

Landrake Moto Parc is a fast and flowing circuit yet at the same time a very<br />

technical track, incorporating old school features such as adverse<br />

cambers, natural terrain, combined with man-made jumps and a rhythm<br />

section to add to the excitement for riders and spectators. We have seen<br />

many famous names in the sport take on the track such as David Thorpe,<br />

Tommy Searle and Josh Coppins.<br />

British Motocross Championship Fuelled By Gulf Race Fuels. Supporting<br />

many teams and riders, of which many are currently placing in the top 10 in<br />

their respective classes. Coincidence?... We don't think so.<br />

We were greeted by glorious sunshine at Canada Heights this year where we saw classes<br />

from BW85 upwards races at the notorious circuit.<br />

Billy Askew took top step on the podium with two dominant race wins , stretching his<br />

advance over Jake Walker and Josh Vail even further than in previous rounds. We some of<br />

the best racing of the season from the 125cc class at Canada Heights Joe Brookes walked<br />

away with first after an eventful fight between Heyman and Colmer. In the 250cc class Tyler<br />

Westcott again stormed the pack fighting for his advance in the Championship.<br />

In the MX2 category we saw a dramatic change in<br />

events during the first 30 seconds of race one where<br />

Conrad Mewse fell short at the first corner, knocking<br />

him out for the remainder of the round. in turn left<br />

GP rider Isak Gifting a clear route to first place.<br />

Tommy Searle was a man that couldn’t be beaten in<br />

the MX1 class at Canada Heights after sweeping up<br />

for a perfect weekend. Searle took home both race<br />

wins in dominant fashion giving him the overall and<br />

extending his points advantage at the top of the<br />

Championship.

We caught up with Gary pre season to discuss with him the key parts of his job and who he<br />

is working with for the 22 season. In this he said he works with Joe Brookes from the GRT<br />

Impact KTM team, who has had a cracker of a season in the 125cc class. Here is what Gary<br />

had to say about Joe's season ahead of the final round of the Revo ACU British Motocross<br />

Championship Fuelled By Gulf Race Fuels at Landrake.<br />

Joe has had a tough season this year after 3 separate injuries that I feel have stopped him<br />

showing his true potential.<br />

When Joe is fit his raw speed is unreal. He is working hard to return to full fitness and I think<br />

will be even better after winter training.<br />

<br />

There have been many highlights this season. Starting with the new team GRT Impact KTM who<br />

have been fantastic, British championship wins and awesome results abroad in the EMX 125<br />

championship. Also winning Hawkstone International at the start of the year.<br />

<br />

The only problems we have had this year is picking up the 3 injuries that have held Joe back.<br />

<br />

Joe and myself will be working closely again for 2023. He inspires me to do what I do to be<br />

honest. We will continue with GRT Impact KTM and Joe will again be training with Ashley Wilde<br />

of the RMJ academy. We step up to the 250 for next season and I am at present working a plan<br />

as to which classes Joe will run in.<br />

I think Joe has a bright future in the sport.


O L L I E C O L M E R<br />

We spoke to Ollie at the beginning of the season in the printed programme in reference to his career in the British<br />

Championship so far. We have nearly wrapped up the season and Ollie is fighting for that second place overall finish as<br />

Hayman beat him to the finish line at Whitby.<br />

Despite this Ollie has had a pretty good season with one race win, two podium positions and a whole lot of hard work.<br />

When we spoke to you at the start of the season you mentioned that Canada Heights was your favourite track on the<br />

calendar, how did it go at that track this year?<br />

Canada heights was up and down day race 1 I had a start crash coursing my to come in the pits to get a new seat, race 2<br />

was really solid leading most off the race but dropping back to second all in all was good to end on a high.<br />

ou also mentioned that 2021 was your best season so far, is that still true? Or would the 22 season top it?<br />

his season has been very up and down this season the competition has been very good to race the 2022 season<br />

opefully 2023 will be even better.<br />

You haven’t been on the podium since Lyng, is this something you’re going to look to change at Landrake?<br />

I am definitely feeling motivated for the last round at landrake to get back on the box and finish my season on a high<br />

<br />

Unfortunately, the championship title for the 22 season has slipped away from you, however are you looking to take<br />

second place in the overall championship?<br />

Yes my Goal is to secure 2nd in the championship witch is a great goal for me my best accomplishment on the 125 bike<br />

Is it likely that we will be seeing you on the GRT team for the 2023 season ? or have any plans been finalised<br />

for the 23 season?<br />

I haven’t made any plans for 2023 apart from I’ll be riding a 250f<br />

<br />

A M I E C A R P E N T E R<br />

We interviewed you at the start of the year before Lyng after you saw your first race win and top step on the<br />

podium. Would you still class Foxhill as your best performance of the 2022 season so far?<br />

The Foxhill round was brilliant day for me but I feel as though performance wise Whitby was better after<br />

making improvements throughout the season.<br />

Since then we have seen you back on the podium at Whitby, how have the past four rounds been for you?<br />

I have managed to make another two visits to the podium since Foxhill at both Blaxhall and Whitby which<br />

were both great days for me which helped solidify 2nd place in the championship.<br />

Although you can’t win the overall Championship are you looking to secure second place? Of course! From what my<br />

goals were coming into this year I have had a great season and if I can bring home second place in the championship it<br />

would be a great achievement.<br />

What are your plans for the 2023 season? Will we see you back on the GRT team for the 23 season?<br />

At the moment I have no firm plans in place for 2023, hopefully something will work out in the coming weeks as this season<br />

comes to an end.


Heading into<br />

<strong>LANDRAKE</strong><br />

The season finale of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels sees us head to the<br />

Landrake venue in Cornwall where a Champion will be crowned in all undecided classes. Who will come out on top<br />

between Tommy Searle and Harri Kullas in the MX1 Championship? all questions will be answered at Landrake. This<br />

round will also see the addition of the British Auto Cup in which top Auto riders from around the country have qualified<br />

from their respective clubs. The round will see Autos, 65s, 85SW, 85BW, 125cc, 250cc, MX2 and MX1 classes all<br />

competing.<br />

The ACU British Auto Cup will be decided at Landrake with the top<br />

Auto riders from around the country having qualified from their<br />

respective clubs; Kensworth, East Kent, Portsmouth, Falcons, 90<br />

Racing and MRA. Riders have been competing within their<br />

respective Championships across 4 rounds and the top 6 riders<br />

from each club have qualified for the showdown for the ACU<br />

British Auto Cup at Landrake.<br />

The 65cc Championship is currently lead by Marty Spires on 446 points who has been fast and consistent so far this<br />

year. Casey Lister is 2nd in the series on 426 points, 20 back from Spires and will be looking to use this final round to<br />

put a charge in for the title. Arthur Moore is a further 23 points back from Lister and is within touching distance. Leo<br />

Wilson and Harley Marczak sit 4th and 5th in the Championship separated by only 5 points.<br />

The 85SW Championship is currently lead by the rocket Robbie Daly on 548 points who has been very quick all season<br />

long, however after a good second day at Whitby Hayden Statt is only 13 points back in what could be a nail biting final<br />

to decide the title. Blake Ward Clarke is 3rd in the series on 497 points, 38 back from Statt. Sonny Rooney and Joel<br />

Winstanley Dawson sit 4th and 5th in the Championship separated by only 3 points.<br />

Billy Askew leads the 85BW Championship on 759 points and has been<br />

solid all season long. Josh Vail is 2nd in the series and is 60 points back<br />

from Askew, Vail has been fast in the last few rounds and will be looking to<br />

take the fight to Askew. Jake Walker is 3rd in the Championship on 670<br />

points, 29 back from Vail. Freddie Gardiner and Ollie Bubb sit 4th and 5th in<br />

the series.<br />

Charlie Heyman has been crowned 125cc Champion for 2023 as he cannot be caught in the points standings, Heyman<br />

has been extremely fast all year and is a deserving Champion. Ollie Colmer is currently 2nd in the series and has had a<br />

tough go at it in the last couple of rounds, the GRT Impact KTM rider will be looking to finish out the season strong. Cole<br />

Mccullough is 3rd in the Championship and is 21 points back from Colmer. The young Hitachi KTM rider will be looking<br />

to take 2nd spot in the series. Ben Mustoe and Tyla Hooley are 4th and 5th in the series and are separated by 2 points.


Tyler Westcott leads the 250cc Championship on 423 points and has been<br />

solid all year. Jak Taylor is 2nd in the series and is 57 points back from<br />

Westcott after a strong showing at Whitby, Taylor will be giving it everything<br />

to take the Championship fight to Westcott in the final round. Domonic<br />

Newbury is 3rd in the series and has been showing some form of late, he is<br />

currently 73 points back from Taylor. Hudson Roper and Harvey Cashmore sit<br />

4th and 5th in the Championship.<br />

Conrad Mewse has been crowned the 2022 Champion of the MX2 class aboard his privateer<br />

426 Motorsport Stebbings KTM. Conrad is now a 3 x British Championship in this class, and he<br />

will be moving up next year onto the 450 machine. Conrad has had a fantastic year and even<br />

came back from a broken collarbone to win the series. James Carpenter sits 2nd in the<br />

Championship on 223 points, 53 back from Conrad, Carpenter has been fast all year and will be<br />

looking to go out with win. Tom Grimshaw is currently 3rd in the series and is 30 back from<br />

Carpenter in what’s been a breakout year for the youngster. Hitachi KTM rider Isak Gifting is<br />

4th in the series but has been side-lined by an injury. Jamie Law is currently 5th on the same<br />

points as Gifting and will surpass him at Landrake, he is only 7 points behind young Grimshaw<br />

in what could be a heated battle for 3rd in the Championship.<br />

It’s DeJa’Vu as the MX1 Championship comes down to the final round at Landrake between Tommy Searle and Harri<br />

Kullas. It was Tommy who came away with the title last year and this year he comes in leading the series, 15 points<br />

ahead of the Cab Screens Crescent Yamahas Kullas. Who takes the title, it’s anyone’s guess, however you’d have to say,<br />

Searle has the cushion of 15 points to play with. Shaun Simpson is 3rd in the Championship 40 points back from Kullas<br />

and 55 points back from Tommy which mathematically rules him out of the title fight. Josh Gilbert is 4th in the series on<br />

239 points, 30 back from Simpson in what’s been an up and down year for the SC Sporthomes Husqvarna rider. John<br />

Adamson sits 5th in the Championship and the young Scot has really found his form in recent rounds so keep an eye out<br />

for him.

The historic Cadders Hill venue, otherwise known as Lyng in Norfolk was greeted by beautiful sunshine<br />

as the Revo British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels rolled into town. Spectators lined<br />

the fences and were treated to fantastic racing throughout all classes on a perfectly prepped old school<br />

circuit. Behind the gate at this round, we had the 85BW class, 125cc class, MX2 and MX1.<br />

The 85BW class kicked us off and there was one man eager to assert himself at the front after narrowly<br />

missing out on the overall at Foxhill, that man was Billy Askew. In the 125cc class Cole put together two<br />

fantastic performances finishing 2nd in both motos and with Heyman and Colmer both having their<br />

issues, Cole’s consistency granted the youngster the overall. The big news surrounding the MX2 class in<br />

the week leading up to Lyng was that Dylan Walsh was moving from MX1 back to MX2 to contest on the<br />

250 machines. This got people speculating whether or not he could take the fight to Conrad Mewse. All<br />

the speculation was soon put to bed when Conrad came out qualified on pole and won the first moto.<br />

Searle won the overall in the MX1 class with a 2-1 scorecard and Kullas was second overall with a 1-2<br />

scorecard this means the gap remains the same between them at the top of the table.<br />

Norwich Viking Motorcycle Club were proud to be invited to present round<br />

3 of the Revo British Motocross Championship fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels<br />

at our iconic Cadders Hill circuit. The Club would like to take this<br />

opportunity to thank RHL Activities for helping us to achieve such a well<br />

organised event.<br />

We could not have staged this without the continued support of our main<br />

sponsor Stebbings Car Superstore who were celebrating their 10th<br />

anniversary of sponsoring motocross at Cadders Hill, Lyng. The club<br />

would like to thank Anthony Skerry for his continued investment into<br />

Lyng and the sport both at grass roots and championship level.<br />

Tommy Searle topped the MX1 podium with Harri Kullas second after a tie<br />

break and local star Jake Nicholls third. Conrad Mewse, riding for a team<br />

put together by Anthony Skerry won the MX2 class from Dylan Walsh<br />

and Jamie Law.<br />

Our team of club members and local businesses put a lot of effort into<br />

track preparation for this championship which is the highlight of the<br />

motocross calendar in Norfolk and has been for over 30 years. We would<br />

like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one. We are very<br />

fortunate to have the expertise of VTS Event Medical on site at all our<br />

events along with marshals and officials from other Eastern Centre clubs.

The ACU British Auto Cup will be decided at Landrake with the top Auto riders<br />

Tommy has been outstanding this season, obviously it’s been a rollercoaster ride for<br />

Jake and Jay. It’s never nice when your riders get injured! For us our standout events<br />

and races would be the Fatcat and Whitby events. The Team worked very closely with<br />

Tommy for these events as we knew they were critical to the Championship<br />

We have so many partners in the Team alongside Honda, all of which contribute to<br />

making the Team what it is.<br />

Plans are well underway for the 2023 season, sadly I can’t confirm to you at the<br />

moment!<br />

We have had a great season so far with Jamie Law on the podium at two rounds and a<br />

possible 3rd overall in the championship is still possible. Stuart Edmonds had his<br />

season cut short with a broken wrist which was a shame as his speed was good until<br />

the injury, Martin Barr has been getting stronger all season after suffering with a<br />

mystery illness and MX2 Debut rider Jack Lindsay has shown signs of good things to<br />

come in the future, so all together I’m happy with the season<br />

I would have to say the two podiums are some of our stand out races for Jamie Law<br />

have been the highlight this year, both he earnt with typical Cumbrian grit and<br />

determination<br />

All our partners have again given the team tremendous support again this year, Gulf race Fuels &<br />

Motoverde are new to the team this year which is great have on board. Long term partners Polisport,<br />

Protaper, Pirelli, Putoline, Boyesen, Twin Air, Motoshack keep the bikes looking sharp, along with rider<br />

apparel partners Arai, Answer, Forma, Leatt. It wouldn’t be possible without all of them and we really<br />

appreciate the help along with the support from all our teams members and in particular my wife Anna.<br />

Difficult to say at this point (speaking about the 23 season), we are in talks again for next year but the way<br />

things are with rising costs in the world right now I’m not sure. Jamie will retire from racing at the end of<br />

the season, so our focus will be to have a good finish to this season and see what happens moving<br />

forward.

Yer it’s been great I’ve seen lots of improvements from all the team.<br />

I do have a stand out race this season, John Adamson in MX1 managed to come home<br />

with a Third at fatcats in race one and just marginally missed out on a podium that<br />

was good and Bobby Bruce running 12th for most of the race in he’s first ever world<br />

Championship even .<br />

Foxhill was greeted by beautiful sunshine on easter bank holiday weekend, and what a<br />

weekend it was. The track was prepped perfectly, and the layout promoted some fantastic<br />

racing through all classes.<br />

The Cabscreens Crescent Yamaha rider threw everything at the brit, but Searle defended his<br />

lead to the flag granting him the second moto win. Kullas took the overall win with a 1-2<br />

scorecard leaving Searle with second overall after posting a 3-1 scorecard.<br />

The fans were in for a treat as they were about to witness Conrad dice through the pack in<br />

one of the best British Championship comeback rides in recent memory. Mewse fought and<br />

clawed his way up to the front and with 2 laps to go passed Jamie Carpenter for an<br />

incredible race win.<br />

Tyler Westcott dominated the race with a very sizable lead by the time he crossed the finish<br />

line, the 2-1 scorecard gifted Tyler top step on the podium again.<br />

Jake Walker took the overall after the better race 2 result with Billy Askews taking home<br />

second overall. With all the drama going on up front Josh Vail was able to put in 2 solid races<br />

to grab himself 3rd overall. These riders provided us with some fantastic racing and will<br />

sure to be battling all season long.<br />

The Small Wheel class was dominated from start to finish by the rocket, Robbie Daly, who<br />

took both race wins gifting him the overall. Robbie was followed by Hayden Statt who<br />

showed real speed and ended his weekend with second overall. Liam bell rounded his<br />

weekend off by getting himself the final spot on the podium.

Following months of planning and preparation this year’s event was very successful with a large<br />

spectator attendance, thanks to all the local promotion done by the club, which created a great<br />

atmosphere around the venue.<br />

For the Woodbridge Club, the return of the event to the Blaxhall Circuit is testament to the standard<br />

of the venue and the attention to detail, which has seen us named as 'Organiser of the Year' for the<br />

past five events.<br />

Since returning to the Championship in 2015, the club has gone from strength to strength and are<br />

continually looking to improve the venue and facilities to make everyone’s day at Blaxhall a more<br />

enjoyable experience.<br />

2022 was no different with the club having made changes to the track layout which saw the sandy<br />

circuit running in reverse for the first time since 2010. This helped to create some exciting racing in<br />

all the classes and was enjoyable for the large crowd to watch.<br />

Obviously, the event would not be possible without the very kind support of our event sponsors,<br />

GH Motorcycles, G & B Finch Ltd, Foxwood Trade, Steve Lumley Planing Ltd and Ernest Doe and all<br />

our Trade Stands and Catering who provided plenty for the crowd to enjoy between races.<br />

We must also thank the hard-working club members and friends of the club for their countless<br />

hours of dedication in the lead up to the event, along with the local landowners and neighbours of<br />

the circuit for their support which made the event such a success.

This exciting 9 year old is looking to impress at<br />

Landrake, having dominated his class at Whitby<br />

scoring a total of 174 points, he is out for more<br />

gold at this years Landrake race. “ At being only<br />

9 years old in this level of British Motocross, my<br />

parents and sponsors around me keep me<br />

positive and believe in me”<br />

between him and Casey to remain number<br />

is improving with each race and only seems to<br />

be getting better. Competing against Casey<br />

Lister and Marty Spires Arthur is a fierce<br />

It was the second round of the season for the 65cc class where we saw Marty Spires battle head to<br />

head with wildcard Thai, Brian Gyles, who pulled through with a clean sweep with first place in<br />

every race.<br />

Sonny Rooney coming second overall, three points ahead of Robbie Daly in third who also had a<br />

consistent ride this weekend. BW85 class for Billy Askew, who rode superb with race wins in race<br />

one, two and four as well as collecting the 24MX holeshot in race three and the Kecks Fastest Lap<br />

in race one.<br />

Charlie Heyman put up a fight to continue his win streak into Whitby, and he sure did. Heyman<br />

walked through the races with top position and the Kecks Fastest Lap. Cole Mccullough and Ben<br />

Mustoe battled throughout the weekend for that second-place spot on the podium with Mustoe<br />

performing better on the Saturday and Mccullough on the Sunday.The 250cc class was dominated<br />

by Tyler Westcott, who was leading without challenge in all four races over the weekend and<br />

placed top on the podium with the Kecks Fastest Lap Award.<br />

Conrad took top step claiming the Kecks Fastest lap and 24MX Holeshot with Talviku making his<br />

debut and Karssemakers in third.<br />

With no clear leader so far it leaves Searle, Kullas, Simpson and Gilbert with 70 point difference<br />

between the four riders it leaves no room for errors in the final two rounds.
