CCF Hosts Inaugural<br />

Community Job Fair<br />

More than 120 individuals attended the CCF’s inaugural<br />

Community Job Fair on September 7.<br />

30 employers and 400 positions were available<br />

within multiple industries including banking,<br />

hospitality, and law enforcement.<br />

Many in attendance had the opportunity to<br />

learn not only about potential positions, but also<br />

participate in on-the-spot interviews with employers.<br />

In addition to hosting various job fairs<br />

throughout the year, the CCF’s Career Services<br />

department also provides resume building, job<br />

search assistance, training, placement, and FAF-<br />

SA completion.<br />

CCF Celebrates Welcoming Week<br />

The Chaldean Community Foundation hosted the Breakfast of Nations event in collaboration with the Sterling<br />

Heights Chamber of Commerce, Global Detroit, Welcoming Michigan, Vibe Credit Union, Michigan Intermediate<br />

School District and One Macomb. After being on hiatus due to the pandemic, the event was brought back in<br />

person for the first time since 2019.<br />

More than 120 participants learned about the migration stories of Yara Shadda, Ryan Rosario and Siri Pipatsattayanywong.<br />

The event featured the panel’s personal experiences as refugees and immigrants and discussed<br />

how to best support and assist new Americans acculturate. Notable attendees included Macomb County Executive<br />

Mark Hackel, State Representative Padma Kuppa, Sterling Heights City Manager Mark Vanderpool, and<br />

many more city and county representatives.<br />

The event also recognized Chaldean Community Foundation’s diverse client base, as it was announced in<br />

the event program that the Chaldean Community Foundation has served individuals from 48 countries in the<br />

last calendar year.<br />

CCF Recognized by<br />

APIA Community<br />

The Chaldean Community Foundation was recognized<br />

on September 18 for their support of the<br />

Asian Pacific Islander and Thai communities.<br />

A certificate of “community leadership and<br />

support recognition” was accepted on behalf of<br />

the CCF by Strategic Initiatives Manager Stacy<br />

Bahri at the Thai Street Food Fest in Sterling<br />

Heights. Other groups and Individuals recognized<br />

at the Food Fest included: Senator Stephanie<br />

Chang, State Representative Padma Kuppa,<br />

FILAMCCO, Vietnamese American Association of<br />

Michigan, and 168 Asian Market.<br />

This award was the first-ever recognition for<br />

the Chaldean Community Foundation by the<br />

Asian Pacific community, as the Chaldean Community<br />

Foundation has supported initiatives<br />

within the APIA community by providing PPE,<br />

partnering on outreach initiatives and more.<br />

Town Hall<br />

The Chaldean Community Foundation<br />

partnered with the Sterling<br />

Heights Police Department to offer<br />

an informational Town Hall regarding<br />

emergency preparedness.<br />

Those in attendance had the<br />

opportunity to learn more about<br />

how to prepare for a natural disaster<br />

and resources that are<br />

valuable to have in the event of an<br />

emergency.<br />
