Wow so much has happened since the last newsletter. 

As many of you know for over 39 years I was the Nafe (National 

Association of Female Entrepreneurs) Global Coordinator 

and interacted with Networks and members all over the US. 

When Nafe decided to go another direction we moved our 

CA members into GSFE, but several of our nafe networks who 

were strong continued to operate on their own. One of those 

networks is in Indianapolis, Indiana and it’s called WIN (Women 

in Networking) and its director is Mary Aurtrey who is amazing. 

Here is her Military and also a Business Photo of this dynamic 

woman 

I have had the opportunity to speak at their live Women’s 

Conference many years ago and we have stayed in touch. when 

I have time, I jump on their meetings which are currently on 

zoom, she has lots of amazing women and many who are in the 

Military as was Mary who retired. 

GSFE is sending her a big congratulation as Mary Aurtrey, 

Network Director for Women In Networking Indianapolis and 

former NAFE member, received notification on Sep 21, 2022 

that she has been selected for induction into the Indiana 

Military Veterans Hall of Fame (IMVHOF)! She met the IMVHOF 

requirements in the Category for Community Service and for 

her U.S. Army honorable military service of over 22 years. Her 

continued outstanding contributions to community and state 

in the areas of professional, civic, and veteran support qualified 

her for the selection. Before and through the Pandemic, Mary 

ensured the homeless (to include Veterans) were provided food, 

clothing, and hygiene items. Plus, her organization contributed

donations to food pantries, Riley Children’s Hospital, and other community organizations). 

Induction and celebration in the IMVHOF will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, (5:00 p.m. • 

Cocktail and Social Hour • 6:00 p.m. – Dinner • 7:15 p.m. – Ceremony) at The Garrison, 6002 N.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Words of Mary: “To God be the Glory”! So, if you know anyone 

in this area share the information as it will be a fantastic event. Also, Mary is also becoming a 

member GSFE which is terrific as she is a great supporter of women. 

We want to thank her and so many of her members that have served for their service. It was an 

honor for me to be able to write a recommendation letter for Mary for this award along with lots 

of other dynamic individuals and I am thrilled that she is being recognized. 

Also, another member who recently joined GSFE is Tiffany Tremont who owns Silo Technology in 

San Antonio, Texas, Tiffany use to run the San Antonio, Texas Nafe and I had the opportunity many 

years ago to fly to San Antonio and speak for her network she also is another dynamic woman. 

Mary Greene who runs the Greater Washington Network which was nafe’s oldest network is a 

great supporter of GSFE and she is always adding things GSFE is doing in her newsletter. In her 

recent newsletter she put the flyer in of all the GSFE gals going to London to get their Honorary 

Doctorate Humanitarian Degree and a few times over the year her network has even sent GSFE a 

donation for our network. 

It is an honor for me to continue to have these wonderful relationships with these women I have 

known for years, all everyday touch a life and make a difference. 

Also, a big thank you to Marneen Lynne Fields who is doing a true story movie “Whose Going 

to Take Care of Me Now” she is giving over 30 of our members the opportunity to be extras and 

some to even have small parts in the movie. 

Chebra Dorsey and I filmed our small part a week ago which was filmed at my house, just 

this week some scenes were filmed at GSFE member Lisa Mayers beautiful home in Fallbrook. 

Coming up in the near future we will see Joan Wakeland, Charmaine Summers, Nicole Farrell, 

Barbara Ham and others have small roles and many in the big scenes as Extras, what fun, one 

never knows what will happen when you show up. 

27 of our members are excited about the upcoming trip to London England where they will be 

receiving their Honorary Humanitarian Doctorate degree. Plus attend a white party, two galas, 

and some even having the opportunity to speak at one of the Gala’s and to be there as we also 

launch two GSFE networks. The next awards event will be in Atlanta, Georgia in May and some of 

our GSFE members will be heading there as well. 

For many this London trip is their first trip to London, I am looking forward to being there to 

support them and to see all the friends I made on my trip last November. Watch for some great 

photos to be published on the Social Media while we are there. Here are the photos of those 

going to London in November and return on December 7th.

A big congratulations to Angeline Benjamin and 

her team that put on the Virtual Conference 

which was amazing, alot of effort and time went 

into putting it on and she has received great 

feedback on how everyone loved it and can’t 

wait to next year. She, Angeline has agreed to 

chair next year’s event again and will add others 

to assist her, so if you are interested in working

There are three major events that GSFE does 

that we are asking all to make an effort to attend 

that is our Fashion Show/Luncheon, our Virtual 

Conference and our Kindness Day awards event, 

all the other events that come up we invite you 

and hope that you can attend but they are not 

mandatory. The three I mentioned are our key 

fundraisers and are important for the growth of 

GSFE.

To the wheat, cut off at the bend, 

cracked, racked, ground into flour 

Add fresh butter creamed with brown sugar 

Stir in some raisins and cinnamon for flavor 

Bake up a Batch of Cookies Today 


Roll out some dough 

Shape hearts and get the gingerbread men in order 

Brush on a little glaze 

Insert red hot eyes that diminish the haze 



Transform tears to twinkles with chocolate chips 

Warm frozen smiles with oatmeal hermits 

Shift the balance with peanut butter crisps

Coachella Valley is definitely on the move under the directorship of Bette King and Rose 

King co Director. We have 34 members and more coming each and every meeting. 

After visiting and learning about many networks I have discovered how each is different 

according to age group/professions and interests and yet each individual is fascinating 

and has so much to share and how inspiring the entire GSFE organization is. For our group 

I find it is a more mature group where they seek relationships and have a thirst for things 

of interest to see/do/hear about. I encourage our members to attend as many events as 

possible for a chance to in person or zoom get to know each other better and interact 

together. Each meeting I invite three vendors to participate and show off their talent or 

product and as many of you know I encourage men who support their ladies to join us 

as members while their ladies support ea other. Men are of great help when needed and 

general support. I also extend the speaking time a bit which is helping build relationships. 

In Sept we did/What’s my line/tons of fun. Oct will be having all about books presented 

by three successful authors/Nov will be my year anniversary as being selected Director 

and I am having a party and Robbie Motter will be speaking about GSFE and to wind up 

the year a fantastic holiday party featuring a show with our multitude membership of

We were excited to launch the new Fallbrook GSFE in September, it meets the first Wednesday at noon at 

the 127 Social House, 127 Elder Street in Fallbrook, CA. 

Our first speaker was Angelique Sunshine who did an amazing job, and we had such great support for the 

kickoff. 

Lisa Ann Mayer has stepped in to be my Co Director, she lives in Fallbrook and knows many people. We 

also joined the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce as they are so nice and helpful, and they had a fantastic 

nonprofit membership price, $100.00 for the year and they have so many great events that our members 

can attend just by saying they are GSFE members. 

Several of us got their early before the restaurant opened and we found a fantastic Thrift Shop down the 

street and ended up with a few great buys. This month we plan to pop in again as see if we can find some 

more treasurers. 

The food and prices at the Restaurant and the service was also great and we have a nice private room. The 

owner also showed up to welcome us for our first meeting. 

We forgot to take a group photo, but the room was filled, and everyone said the meeting was great. 

Looking forward to future meetings. 

It turned out to be a great networking day as on the way back many of us went to the Temecula GSFE 

meeting as it’s the same day but at night, so it was a full day of great networking.

Hello GSFE sisters in August we had one of the biggest show ups we had 27 people in 

attendance. We had Raeven from Milvet come and talk about what she does for the 

community what she does for the military and about the book that she put together for the 

veterans. We were so big that we had to find a new location so we chose to go to Cherry 

Hills golf center through one of our GSFE sisters Charmaine made this all possible.

Meet Our New Members 

Betse Bernstein 

Betse is a true Master of Thai Massage 

She has been an Instructor and Practitioner of Thai Massage since 1993 

She has developed special techniques to relieve pain that allows the recipient to 

feel comfortable while releasing the problem. She is firm but gentle. Betse loves 

teaching Thai Massage and wants her secrets to being available to anyone who has 

a sincere desire to learn. 

In 1993, when Betse first started doing THAI MASSAGE most people had not heard 

of this form of massage. She promoted it as THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE OF THAILAND 

48and explained that it was done on a mat on the floor, fully clothed without oil. It 


was excellent for sciatica and back pain, neck and shoulder pain, and other body

of this form of massage. She promoted it as THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE OF THAILAND

challenges. The more she was able to release pain through her massage, the more 

referrals she received for therapeutic massage. Ultimately, she ended up creating 

her own style. In finding Thai Massage Betse found her true passion in life. 

What Differentiates Her Style 

Betse treats her moves as a dance with each step flowing into the next. 

All through the stretches, she massages the different areas that are revealed in 

that stretch. By being present she can feel the tight muscles and nerves, She 

intuitively knows what is needed. 

When Betse went to IPSB (International Pacific School of Bodywork), she wanted 

to be a Healer. When she discovered THAI Massage, she was so excited about the 

quality of the massage, it more than exceeded her expectations. Her work just 

keeps getting better over the years. 

She grew up in a medical family, Her dad was a doctor (General Practitioner) and 

her mother was a nurse. When she was a teenager, and during college vacations, 

she worked in her dad’s medical office using his unique healing tools including 

Ultrasound on his patients. 

Her background as an elementary school teacher helped her greatly as a THAI 

MASSAGE Instructor. Her love of teaching plus her passion for Thai Massage 

allowed the students to learn from her with ease. 

By the fall of 1993 Betse had taken the full Thai Massage course twice (the second 

time for no credit, just to perfect her skills). She had also taken advanced courses 

both in California and Thailand and was receiving Thai Massage weekly from an 

instructor for several years. 

Betse became a Thai Massage Instructor at Natural Healing Institute in Encinitas 

for 5 years in the 90s and currently teaches her own style privately. 

She visited THAILAND twice and studied at ITM INTERNATIONAL TRAINING 

MASSAGE, an institute of Thai Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand where She 

completed advanced courses plus The Teacher Training Program (Teaching at ITM 

in Thailand). She taught there in the mornings and received her credential to use in 

the United States.

The Photo above was taken in Montgomery on my vacation in May 2022. It 

was a beautiful day! Then came Summer and that beautiful field changed! 

Change happens all around us and we as humans have to adjust to survive 

climatic changes, financial ups and downs , health issues and other Life 

Hiccups. Whatever challenges you or your loved ones faced this past quarter I 

would like to wish you better days in the future. Imagine better days are here 

again! Manifest it, and make it happen! 

Riverside GSFE Chapter had wonderful quarter. The chapter offers both in 

person and hybrid presentations. Meetings are held every third Wednesday of 

the month. In person attendees are asked to come at 5:30 pm Pacific sharp so 

that they can Network. Hybrid attendees are asked to join in at 6 PM Pacific. 

Gigi Banks has loaned us her beautiful patio for our meetings. 

This year she will be the President Of Soroptimist Corona. Congratulations 

Gigi for your service and Kindness! 

This past Quarter was very informative for members. Presenters were 

Angelique Sunshine, Kara Maldonado , and Arvee Robinson. Kara Maldonado. 

spoke to us on the art and benefits of Journaling , Angelique Sunshine spoke 

on Social Media and Manifesting and Arvee Robinson presented “ Impact “. 

Arvee is a Speaker Trainer. She showed us how to utilize our books to get 

more speaking engagements and get paid. 

Joan Wakeland from The Riverside GSFE Network and Donna Weber from the 

Oceanside Network have been working together to make this an awesome 

Kindness Day “ The World Kindness Day “ Celebration is on Sunday November 

13th . Start time will be 12 noon until 5 pm. The cost for attending is $25 for 

GSFE Members and $30 for Non-Members.Please invite your friends. Lunch will 

be served at 12:30 pm and there is a great lineup of Entertainers.

In these past 3 months, we’ve had the opportunity

Melissa. Our attendance has been great and

takes a few days, but the perfume is delivered to

We meet monthly on the first Thursday of each month at noon PST. Even 

though we meet virtually, this is a fun group of vibrant women who love to 

connect. We can zoom in from across the globe, so this is a great 

opportunity for each GSFE member to join us, whenever your schedule 

allows since we do not have any travel issues! We never get stuck in

2 nd Annual GSFE Conference 

Congratulations to the organizers of the second annual GSFE Virtual 

Conference. It was presented over zoom so members from across the 

country could attend. The speakers presented on a variety of engaging 

topics. Joy Ruffen empowered and inspired us with her topic “ Powerful 

Fearless Women in Leadership”. Joan Wakeland empowered us to “Face 

our Goliaths”. Sabine Becker gave a powerful demonstration of PUSH, 

“Push Through Until Success Happens”. Angelique MacArthur taught 

about social media. The virtual conference was cohosted by Laurie Davis 

and Gillian Larson. Singers Patrice Morris and Prince Fleet Easton graced 

the stage with powerful vocals. Maya Purcell performed on her solo violin 

and a talented child duet from Quebec on voice and fiddles called the 

Fiddlaires rounded out the entertainment portion of the conference. 

Feedback from the attendees was unanimous that a fabulous day of 

learning, inspiration and fun was had by all. Angeline Benjamin was the 

organizer of the event. She was assisted by Angelique Sunshine handling 

the technology duties. We eagerly await the next conference of this high 

quality from our GSFE organization.

Youth GSFE network is proud to host a monthly Vision Board workshop. A vision board is a collage of images that represent 

our personal goals and dreams. It can include cut-out pictures from magazines and words that help inspire. The process of 

creating can help a person gain self-awareness and reflect on priorities in their life and make choices needed to get what 

is important. Positive emotions often create opportunities which increase our next generation to achieve personal success. 

Ask yourself, what really matters most? What gives you meaning? Who do you want to be? Who do you want to help? And 

how do you want to spend your time? What motivates you? Ask yourself, what do you want and why do you want it? Does 

it have anything to do with past, present, and future experiences? What images or symbols represent what you want?

The fall season is here and our September meeting kicked it off nicely! Our 

intimate group enjoyed learning about and discussing all the parts that 

make up real success. 

Our group was ready to learn at our first 8AM meeting! It was so wonderful 

to get a start to the day with incredible networking and an empowering 

presentation. And having coffee definitely helps! 

Our guest speaker was the absolutely incredible Gillian Larson 

and she dove deep into the 12 P’s of success. From passion, to 

persistence, to people, to promotion and more, Gillian really 

highlighted why each P works together to help us achieve any 

goal we set for ourselves.

the points that stood out to us and we highlighted the problem of
