experience not to be missed. Throughout the month of 

December, residents are invited to enjoy a festive stroll 

around the perimeter of Desert Camp Community Center 

for a dazzling display of holiday lights and décor.

Cookies with Mrs. Claus 

Thursday, Dec. 1 | 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. 

The Homestead 

Ages 0-10 

$12; no fee for accompanying adult 

Mrs. Claus is visiting the Ranch to 

spread some holiday cheer. Bring 

your little one for a fun holiday 

celebration that includes cookie 

decorating kits, holiday crafts, songs 

and games with Mrs. Claus and photo 

opportunities. Children must be 

accompanied by an adult. 

Winter Workshop 

Saturday, Dec. 3 | 6 to 8 p.m. 

Desert Camp 

All ages | $12; Free for ages 0-2 

Get in the holiday spirit at DC Ranch’s 

own Winter Workshop! Participants 

will have a jolly time building gingerbread 

houses, making holiday crafts, 

enjoying milk and cookies, and taking 

pictures with Santa and his elves.

Soak in the beauty of the season 

with classic holiday songs performed 

by The Mistletones quartet and stay

Bring your leashed four-legged 

friend to enjoy a casual gathering 

with other residents. Take pictures 

with Santa and enjoy special treats

Mix and mingle during an extra merry 

happy hour. This relaxed gathering 

will get you into the holiday

for Babies Drive 

Now through Dec. 20 

Drop off at Desert Camp 

DC Ranch Gives is supporting March 

of Dimes by collecting items for 

newborns in the NICU. Brighten a 

family’s holiday season with new 

books and toys to bring home after 

their hospital stay. Suggested items 

include new: rattles, large rings, 

squeeze toys, teething toys, soft 

dolls, textured balls, vinyl and board 

books. 

Speaker Series: Love and War 

Wednesday, Dec. 7 | 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Join celebrated author Jan Krulick- 

Belin on an extraordinary journey 

and a pilgrimage of the heart. How 

far would you go to discover the 

father you lost as a child? Find out as 

she discusses her story – a memoir, 

love story, war story, history book, 

detective story, travelogue and 

spiritual awakening, all rolled into one.

outdoor dinner on the patio of The 

Italian Daughter. Ticket includes a 

glass of sparkling wine and a three

Friday, Dec. 9 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Ironwood American Kitchen 

Ages 21+ 

Enjoy some merry mingling at 

Ironwood American Kitchen. All 

ladies are asked to bring a wrapped 

gift ($25 value) for a holiday gift 

exchange. Come dressed to impress 

in festive attire. Appetizers provided; 

drinks and meals responsibility of 

each guest. 

Gives Group Service Project: 

Arizona Helping Hands 

Saturday, Dec. 10 | 12:15 to 3:30 p.m. 

Departs from The Homestead 

Ages 14+ | $5 donation 

Arizona Helping Hands is the 

largest provider of essential needs 

for children in foster care in the 

state. Volunteers will assist with the 

Holiday Toy Extravaganza by sorting 

donated toys in their warehouse. 

Transportation and Gives shirt 

provided. 

Food Truck Night 

Thursday, Dec. 15 | 5 to 7 p.m. 

Desert Camp 

Two food trucks roll into DC Ranch 

with something for everyone. Enjoy 

fresh seafood from East Coast 

Joe’s or spice things up with Yolo’s 

Authentic Mexican cuisine. 

Field Trip: Phoenix 

Herpetological Sanctuary 

Wednesday, Dec. 28 

9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 


Ages 6-11 | Youth $28, Adults $12 

Kids will enjoy a behind-the-scenes 

look at a reptile sanctuary and learn 

about its 1,700 inhabitants. The 

hands-on tour provides a chance 

to meet, touch and interact with 

as many animals as possible. Pack 

a lunch for a picnic and games on 

The Homestead lawn upon return. 

Beverages and dessert included. 

Parents are welcome, but not required.

HEALTH & 

WELLNESS 

New Year. New You. 

To make registration easier for ongoing fitness 

programs, residents may purchase classes up to 

three months in advance. Registration is now open 

for all December, January and February classes. 

Cost varies per session. 

Effective Jan. 1, fitness class registration fees will 

increase to $5 for each class per session. Drop-in 

fee will increase to $10 per class. 

All Levels Yoga 

Monday and Wednesday | 9 to 10 a.m. 

The Homestead 

This class is suitable for all levels of yoga practice. The class 

moves at a slow to moderate pace and offers modifications 

so participants can customize the class to fit their specific 

needs. Please bring a yoga mat, towel and water bottle. 

Strength and Balance 

Monday and Wednesday | 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. 

The Homestead 

This class is designed to work on strengthening and 

lengthening muscles. Light weights and resistance bands 

will also be used. This class is designed for all levels. 

Please bring a mat or towel and water bottle. 

Yoga Basics 

Tuesday and Thursday | 9 to 10 a.m. 

The Homestead 

Designed for the beginner, learn how to incorporate yoga 

breathing techniques, body and spinal alignment and how 

to properly and safely work your body into different yoga 

postures including standing, sitting and balancing poses. 

Please bring a yoga mat and water bottle. 

Total Body Aqua Fit 

Wednesday and Friday | 9 to 10 a.m. 

Desert Camp Pool 

Water fitness is an excellent way to get a low-impact cardio 

workout while toning and strengthening muscles. Remember 

to bring a towel, water bottle and sunscreen. 

Pickleball Club 

Friday and Sunday | 8 to 11 a.m. 

Desert Camp Courts 

Try your hand at a friendly game of Pickleball at the 

Desert Camp courts. All levels are welcome. Please bring 

a paddle if you have one. Advanced level play 8 to 9 a.m.

Record holder Adam “Crack” Winrich 

will wow the crowd with whip tricks 

and lassos.

new songs written for the Broadway

Feed My Starving Children provides 

nutritional meal packs to starving 

children all over the world. Volunteers 

will help prepare Manna Packs, a 

tested nutritious meal that is essential 

for improved health of undernourished

While most DC Ranch programming is intended for 

residents only, there may be an instance where residents 

would like to invite a guest. Please contact the program 

coordinator listed on the calendar or registration page 

to make this request. There are many factors such as 

space, capacity, food, beverage, etc. that the program 

coordinator must consider for each program and may not 

always be able to accommodate the request.
