year, DC Ranch Gives has adopted

families who cannot afford gifts. Help

From Big Idea to Big Screen

Long before we see a film on the big screen, someone has an idea, develops

the story and writes a script. With good luck and reputation, someone buys

the rights to produce the film. Join screenwriters Greg and Sara Bernstein

and film producer Fred Green, residents of DC Ranch, as they give a

“behind-the-scenes” look at the movie making process. Doors open at 6

p.m., program begins at 6:30 p.m. Appetizers, wine and beer provided.

clues and escape the room! An escape

room is a real-life adventure game in

which teams solve a series of puzzles

using clues, hints and strategy to

complete the objectives at hand.

secret plot which is hidden within the

The instructor’s approach is to

fundamentals of bidding, play and

defense.

We’re rolling out the red carpet for this kickoff event! Reel Deal is a new

DC Ranch movie series that will feature a variety of films for different ages

and interests followed by a brief discussion for those who wish to engage.

Come watch one of the films nominated for the 2020 Best Picture

Academy Award. Residents will have the opportunity to fill out their Oscar

Classic Cooking Academy

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and

fire up the grill. Beginners, experts,

and food enthusiasts of all skill

levels are invited. After instructions

from the head chef, make grilled

shrimp skewers with chipotle aioli,

southwestern steak tacos with

homemade tortillas, grilled corn with

feta and cilantro and tres leches cake.

The second Tuesday and fourth

Saturday of every month at 8 a.m.

house after each hike will be offered

To make registration easy for ongoing fitness programs, residents may purchase classes up to three months in advance.

Registration is now open for all December, January and February classes!* Cost varies per session. $7 drop in.

All Levels Yoga

Mondays and Wednesdays

Fridays starting in Jan.

9 to 10 a.m. | The Homestead

This class is suitable for all levels of

yoga practice. The class moves at a

slow to moderate pace and offers

modifications so participants can

customize the class to fit their specific

needs. Teachers focus on alignment

and breathing techniques to safely

stretch and strengthen students.

Please bring a yoga mat, towel and

water bottle.

Yoga Basics

Tuesdays and Thursdays

9 to 10 a.m. | The Homestead

Designed for the beginner, learn

how to incorporate yoga breathing

techniques, body and spinal alignment

and how to properly and safely work

your body into different yoga postures

including standing, sitting and

balancing poses. This class focuses

on stretching the larger muscle

groups, helping improve flexibility and

decreasing risk for injury. Please bring

a yoga mat and water bottle.

You asked, we listened. Residents can

now join an instructor-led fitness class

on Saturday mornings. These rotating

classes will allow participants to try

different types of fitness and discover

new interests.

Strength and Balance

Mondays and Wednesdays

10:30 to 11 a.m. | The Homestead

This class is designed to work on

strengthening and lengthening your

muscles. We will be working on your

core and balance to give an all-around

workout. A portion of the class will be

done seated on the mat. Light weights

and resistance bands will also be used.

This class is designed for all levels.

Please bring a mat or towel and water

bottle.

While most DC Ranch programming is intended for residents only, there may be instances where residents would

like to invite a guest. If a program is eligible, each resident may bring up to two (2) guests with a maximum of

COMMUNITY CENTERS

Desert Camp and The Homestead Community Centers are

the heart of all DC Ranch community activities, events and

social gatherings.

Stop by Desert Camp to use the fitness room, have a cup

of coffee, visit the recently remodeled playground, play a

game or two of pickleball or tennis, shoot some hoops, or

participate in clubs and social groups. There is also a tot

pool and a heated lap pool.

Visit The Homestead for fitness classes, a quiet lobby

workspace, have lunch on the veranda, play basketball,

toddle around the playground and splash pad, or meet up

with friends and go for a walk.

Both Desert Camp and The Homestead Community Centers

are available for residents to rent for private events.

Desert Camp offers a variety of settings perfect for

intimate (smaller) special events, parties, meetings and

celebrations for groups up to 80.

The Homestead offers a grand hall setting perfect for

larger special events, parties, meetings and celebrations for

groups of 50 to 200.

facilitating initiatives that enhance residents’ quality of life,

serve collective interests and promote the DC Ranch brand.

The Council provides recreational, educational, cultural

and volunteer opportunities that reflect community values;

operates and programs DC Ranch amenities; creates outlets

for communication; and defines DC Ranch Standards.

The Community Council’s very mission is to facilitate a
