Pickleball Tournament

Sunday, March 1

10 a.m. to Noon | Desert Camp

Ages 18+ | Free

Participate in the first DC Ranch

Pickleball Club round robin

tournament. This tournament is for

intermediate to advanced players

(3.5 rating or higher). Players do

not need to bring a partner, as

partners will be randomly selected

and change throughout the day.

Players will be scored individually to

determine a tournament champion.

6 to 8 p.m. | The Homestead

All ages | $10

Skip the movie theater crowds and

join the community for a family

movie night. The 1995 film centers on

a magical board game that unleashes

a world of adventure (starring Robin

Williams and Kirsten Dunst). Theater

snacks and refreshments provided.

Event is indoors, but residents are

welcome to bring lawn chairs, a picnic

and blankets for their viewing comfort

of the big screen. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Bubbles & Bites

Tuesday, March 10

All ladies are welcome to join an

Creative Arts Workshop:

Channel your inner artist with an

engaging, hands-on exploration of

the creative arts. Beloved painting

instructor Carrie Curran will lead

participants in a colorful spring

Lifelong Learning: Frank Lloyd Wright

Famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright is an important part of Arizona history,

but how did he get his start in Chicago? Join Stephen Siek, Professor

Emeritus from Arizona State University, as he tells of Wright’s early stages

As a supplemental experience to the Lifelong Learning lecture, join

neighbors for a closer look of Frank Lloyd Wright’s world at Taliesin West.

Residents are encouraged to snap

photos of whatever inspires them

about living in the community.

From wildlife to scenic vistas,

there’s no denying the endless

possibilities. Each month,

submitted images will be reviewed

by DC Ranch staff and selected for

a spot in Ranch News. At the end

of the year, residents will vote from

the monthly winners to choose a

winning photo for a framed display

at the Desert Camp Community

Center. To submit a photo for

consideration, please email a

high-res image with your name,

image title and brief description to

FITNESS PROGRAMS

To make registration easy for ongoing fitness programs, residents may purchase classes up to three months in advance.

Registration is now open for all March, April and May classes! Cost varies per session. $7 drop in, if space permits.

*Classes April 27 through June move to Desert Camp.

All Levels Yoga

Mondays and Wednesdays

9 to 10 a.m. | The Homestead*

This class is suitable for all levels of

yoga practice. The class moves at

a slow to moderate pace and offers

modifications so participants can

customize the class to fit their specific

needs. Teachers focus on alignment and

breathing techniques to safely stretch

and strengthen students. Please bring a

yoga mat, towel and water bottle.

Strength and Balance

Mondays and Wednesdays

10:30 to 11 a.m. | The Homestead*

This class is designed to work on

strengthening and lengthening your

muscles. We will be working on your

core and balance to give an all-around

workout. A portion of the class will be

done seated on the mat. Light weights

and resistance bands will also be used.

This class is designed for all levels. Please

bring a mat or towel and water bottle.

Yoga Basics

Tuesdays and Thursdays

March and April: 9 to 10 a.m.

May:

Class 1: 8 to 9 a.m.

Class 2: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

The Homestead*

Designed for the beginner, learn

how to incorporate yoga breathing

techniques, body and spinal alignment

and how to properly and safely work

your body into different yoga postures

including standing, sitting and

balancing poses. This class focuses

on stretching the larger muscle

groups, helping improve flexibility and

decreasing risk for injury. Please bring

a yoga mat and water bottle.

Friday Yoga

Fridays

9 to 10 a.m. | The Homestead*

This all levels yoga class moves at

a slow to moderate pace, offering

modifications for participants to

customize the class to their needs.

Teachers will focus on alignment and

Saturday Morning Fitness

Saturdays

9 to 10 a.m. | Desert Camp

Registration opens one month prior

to each class

Residents can join an instructor-led

fitness class on Saturday mornings.

These rotating specialty classes will

allow participants to try different types

of fitness and discover new interests.

2. Visit the calendar under the News and Events tab.

3. Click on the class or event of interest.

4. Click the Register or RSVP button for tickets and reservations.

Please note there is a no refund policy for all DC Ranch programs.

Guest Policy: While most DC Ranch programming is intended for residents only, there may be instances where

residents would like to invite a guest. If a program is eligible, each resident may bring up to two (2) guests with a

maximum of four (4) per household.

New in 2020 is the “Early Registration” and “Registration” fee for Signature events. Early registration is defined

as a ticket purchase made more than one week before the event date. Registration is defined as a ticket purchase

made the week prior (Saturday to Saturday) to the event including day-of. This new fee structure aims to

encourage timely registration so we can plan large events more accurately.
