AVIATION NEWS
leader in aviation in Latin
America and across the globe due
to its strong leadership, unrivaled
customer service, and
commitment to technology and
innovation," said Van Rex
Gallard, vice president of Sales
for Latin America, Africa, &
Caribbean, Boeing Commercial
Airplanes. "The addition of the
787 to the LAN fleet will help it
maintain that leadership edge by
increasing its global presence and
bringing a new and exciting
flying experience to more
passengers in more locations
around the world."
The first cities that LAN's fleet of
787s will fly to are Santiago,
Buenos Aires, Lima, Los
Angeles, Madrid and Frankfurt.
The aircraft will begin to fly
commercially in the next few
months, and these routes will be
added gradually during its first
year of operation.
Nflightcam
Provides Visual
Record of First
Solo, Free
It’s the flight we remember all
our lives, but we’re the only ones
who can really relate to it! Until
now, as Nflightcam makes it
possible to record that flight.
Better yet, they’ll produce a
professionally-edited HD video
of the experience. Free.
“The first solo is a once-in-alifetime
event, and we’d like to
help all students preserve it and
share it with their families and
friends. We thought this would be
a good way to introduce our
system, and do something good
at the same time,” said company
founder, Patrick Carter, himself a
CFI with over 6000 hours. “Of all
our flights, that first solo is often
the most memorable, and in
many ways, the most important,”
he said, “so having a way to
remember and share it is
important, too.”
Nflightcam is a small camera that
records HD video, plus audio
from the intercom; it is
unobtrusive and self-contained,
weighing a mere 5 ounces and
has limitless mounting options
for both inside and outside the
aircraft. The Solo Cam kit
includes an easy-to-use suction
cup mount that works on any
smooth flat surface inside the
cockpit.
All a student needs to do is sign
up on the website
(www.nflightcam.com) and pay
shipping. After the camera is
returned to Nflightcam in the
provided, preaddressed shipping
container, the student will receive
his or her free HD video (and
camera deposit). The video is
also a gateway to aviation fame:
the first flight will be available on
Nflightcam.com (plus other
social media sites like Facebook
and YouTube) for the world to
see.
First Learjet
75 Production
Aircraft Lights
Up with Power
On
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--
(Marketwire - ) - Bombardier
Aerospace's Learjet 75 jet
continues to achieve its
development milestones with the
first powering up of the aircraft's
electrical systems on the Wichita
production line. Aircraft power,
including to the new Bombardier
Vision flight deck, was switched
on during the week of August 21,
2012, as the aircraft progresses
towards its 2013 entry-intoservice.
"This is a fantastic achievement
that highlights the tremendous
efforts of every single person
involved with this project," said
Ralph Acs, Vice President and
General Manager, Learjet,
Bombardier Business Aircraft.
"This milestone represents a
significant step forward for our
Learjet aircraft family, as we
were able to seamlessly integrate
the Learjet 75 jet into our
production flow. More
importantly, this aircraft, our very
first complete Learjet 75 aircraft,
will play a pivotal role in the
certification program.
"We have seen major changes to
the aircraft's wiring harness to
accommodate the Garmin
avionics, the heart of this totally
new Bombardier Vision flight
deck arrangement," added Acs.
"Not only did this require
tremendous dedication from our
Wichita team, but such a feat
would not have been possible
without our Belfast and Toronto
sites."
The Learjet 70 and Learjet 75 test
aircraft are continuing their
development work as the
program moves forward. There
will be a total of five flight test
aircraft: a modified Learjet 40
XR jet and a modified Learjet 45
XR aircraft are flying and
focusing on avionics
certification; a modified Learjet
45 XR jet will be used primarily
for the interior and cabin
management system; an existing
Learjet 45 XR aircraft will be
modified and utilised for testing
and validating the performance
improvements; and finally, the
first production Learjet 75
aircraft.
A breakthrough in business
aviation, the Bombardier Vision
flight deck is designed to deliver
a completely new cockpit
experience by combining the best
in technological advancements
with superior design aesthetics.
As such, it provides pilots flying
the Learjet 70 and Learjet 75
aircraft an unprecedented level of
control and comfort. The
Bombardier Vision flight deck
for Learjet 70 and Learjet 75
aircraft will feature the fully
