Qatar Airways, one of the world’s
fastest growing airlines, has seen
rapid growth in just 15 years of
operations, currently flying a
modern fleet of 111 aircraft to
118 key business and leisure
destinations across Europe,
Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific,
North America and South
America.
Since the beginning of 2012,
Qatar Airways has launched
flights to Baku (Azerbaijan);
Tbilisi (Georgia); Kigali
(Rwanda); Zagreb (Croatia),
Erbil (Iraq), Baghdad (Iraq),
Perth (Australia) and Kilimanjaro
(Tanzania).
Over the next few months, Qatar
Airways will launch services to a
diverse portfolio of new routes,
including Yangon, Myanmar
(October 3); Maputo,
Mozambique (October 31);
Belgrade, Serbia (November 20);
Warsaw, Poland (December 5)
and Chicago, USA (10 April
2013).
Airbus
highlights the
future of
aviation at ILA
Berlin Air
Show 2012
A320 with Sharklets on show for
the first time in Germany
Airbus will showcase a large
number of new developments at
this year’s ILA Berlin Air Show
(11-16th September), including
the A320 with Sharklets – fuel
saving wing tip devices - for the
first time in Germany.
Throughout the show media are
invited to visit a customer A380,
a Sharklet equipped Airbus A320
as well as the Airbus Beluga
transport aircraft in a special
livery on static display. The
world’s most advanced military
airlifter, the A400M, will also be
on static and flying display,
contributing to a major EADS
exhibition of the use of its
products in humanitarian
operations. In addition, the
market leading C295 will be
present at the show with the
Polish Air Force.
All EADS company units and the
EADS press centre can be found
under one roof in a centrally
located 1,300sqm EADS Pavilion
in row 7-14. The Pavilion will
focus on new and future aircraft
programmes and include an A350
XWB cut-away model and a
movie theatre showcasing
‘efficiency’. Other models
include the A320neo and the
C295 in Airborne Early Warning
(AEW) and Anti Submarine
Warfare (ASW) configurations.
Airbus will push the boundaries
of virtual reality by allowing
some lucky winners from the
visiting public to experience
virtually flying an A320. For
current and future talents, a series
of career workshops will be held
throughout the week to discuss
opportunities at Airbus..
A special focus on Airbus
commitment towards best
environmental practices will be
exhibited at the Alternative Fuels
pavilion (Hall 1). Sustainability
and the proven concept of a
“Perfect Flight” will be the main
themes.
Airbus will hold a press
conference at 13.00 on Tuesday
11th September, in the Press
Centre, Hall 5, Room A, followed
by an Airbus Military press
briefing directly afterwards in the
same room.

Eurolot to Add
Six More
Bombardier
Q400 NextGen
Aircraft to its
Fleet
TORONTO, ONTARIO--
(Marketwire/AsiaNet Pakistan -
- Bombardier Aerospace
announced that Warsaw-based
Eurolot has converted options on
six Q400 NextGen airliners to a
firm order that will increase its
fleet to 14 Q400 NextGen
aircraft.
Based on the list price of the
Q400 NextGen airliner, the
transaction announced today is
valued at approximately $190
million US.
Eurolot's firm order for eight
Q400 NextGen airliners with 12
options was announced on March
9, 2012, and delivery of the first
aircraft was announced on May
17, 2012.
As previously announced,
Eurolot has joined Bombardier
Commercial Aircraft's Smart
Parts Program for the Q400
aircraft. The Smart Parts Program
is customized to an airline's
specific operational and dispatch
reliability requirements and
provides the airline with
competitive and predictable
advanced component exchange
and repair costs, as well as
superior availability of key
components.
"Our fleet renewal program and
route expansion are proceeding
very well with Bombardier's
Q400 NextGen aircraft," said
Mariusz Dabrowski, President
and Chief Executive Officer,
Eurolot. "The very competitive
operating costs of the aircraft will
benefit further from the Smart
Parts Program."

Some 15 new operators and
leasing companies have joined
the Q400 aircraft family since
2010, with five having acquired
or ordered their aircraft this year.
This growth, which has resulted
in more than 40 operators
worldwide, is indicative of the
