UNITE FOR ACCESS
The Level Playing Field Unite
for Access campaign kicks off
today and aims to showcase the
good work being done by clubs
to improve accessibility and
inclusion for disabled fans.
Bolton Wanderers fully supports
the campaign and are getting
involved by helping disabled
supporters learn about Level
Playing Field (LPF) and understand
what the charity does, what its aims
are to improve accessibility and
inclusion, and how they can assist
disabled fans.
Today we delighted to be joined by
Steve Evans an LPF Trustee who
will be catching up with a number
of our disabled fans including
Morgan Parry who is an LPF
Ambassador.
Over the campaign a video will
be released that focuses upon
disabled supporters from three
clubs in the EFL, including our own
club with an in-depth interview of
Jack Storey and his family.
In recent months we have had
a full LFP audit of our club and
the very detailed report gives us
a great guide into how we can
continually improve our facilities for
our disabled supporters.
To take this work forward a
working party has been formed
brining together members of the
Bolton Wanderers Supporters
Trust, Bolton Wanderers Disabled
Supporters Association, Bolton
Wanderers in the Community,
disabled fans and key staff
members in the Club.
A major focus will be on creating
a full changing places facility
designed to be completely
accessible providing sufficient
space and equipment for people
who are not able to use the toilet
independently. The plan is for this
facility to be available throughout
the week to the public as well as a
match day.
Over the coming months further
improvements are planned for
the accessible toilets, stadium
loop system, quite room and
appropriate design changes of
existing areas to create better
accessibility in a variety of ways.
You can support this work by
adding a donation to the cause
when purchasing your season
ticket for 23/24.
We are looking to work together as
one club, one community one town
and unite for access and support
the great work of Level Playing
Field that is there to support
disabled sports fans through its
membership and a variety of active
initiatives.
