Steven Vincent, co-founder of
Basestation was coworking long
before coworking was a thing. He
operated his original office in a
“coworking” setting in 1999 - even
though he didn’t know that term
yet! The concept allowed him
to get his business started; no
lease, no overheads, and good
connections and advice from the
people he was sharing the space
with. In 2014 Basestation opened
its doors to the entrepreneurial community.
Fast forward nine years and the concept of coworking is
now synonymous with Tauranga’s most established dedicated
coworking space. Basestation is a place that continues to
bring people together to share resources such as hot desks,
meetings and office space, as well as a large event facility.
The physical space has grown in scale over the years, but
what remains unchanged is the community ethos. Steven is
proud that people and relationships form the heart of what
Basestation is all about.
Basestation fosters the entrepreneurial mindset and
welcomes individuals, teams, and companies to experience
the benefits that a coworking environment offers.

The Kollective opened in 2018
and since then, I’ve been part
of the operations team of our
unique coworking space that
supports the success of notfor-profit
organisations.
Originally from Ireland, mum
of three teens, and passionate
about music, most of my
previous career was as a singer.
Like lots of creatives, I’ve made
a few lattes in my time too!
I became The Kollective manager in January 2022.
Every day brings something new, which is just the way I
like it. I love seeing people happy in their workplace. For
me it’s about creating a safe space and culture to allow our
members to connect with others and thrive in their vital
community roles.
We offer different memberships and meeting spaces for
1-120 people as well as technology solutions, and events to
help you build connections and capability.
Our space is beautiful with views over the vibrant
Historic Village and green space. Our vibe is friendly and

A year after the Christchurch
earthquakes, Jade Maddox
moved to Tauranga, embarking
on a period of personal and
professional growth which
culminated in the development of
her co-working business, Bloom
Co, three years ago.
“I’ve never looked back,”
Jade says. “The Tauranga
business community is so
welcoming, and with the influx of
entrepreneurs, this is a fabulous place to live and work.”
Jade’s passion for supporting people in business stems from
her early career in executive recruitment and HR. Now, as a
Tauranga Business Chamber board member, she sees first-hand
the impact that doing good business is having in our community.
“It’s bought me such joy to create a workspace where people
organically connect and thrive in their businesses” says Jade.
Bloom Co provides private offices, meeting rooms and hot
desks for business owners and independent practitioners to
use casually or regularly. Jade has created an atmosphere

ANGELINE WILLIAMS

Angeline Williams is a
seasoned hospitality and event
professional with over 30 years
of experience in the industry.
Throughout her career,
she has worked in various
roles across New Zealand and
Australia and has always found
the fastpaced and dynamic
nature of the sector appealing. In
her current role as a member of
the team at Shared Workspaces
in Tauranga, Angeline has the opportunity to interact with
tenants, members, and event attendees on a daily basis.
She is dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive
environment where everyone feels comfortable and valued.
Angeline is known for her ability to think outside the box
and offer practical solutions to any problems that may arise.
She is a natural problem solver and is always willing to
lend a helping hand. In addition to her work with tenants
and members, With her extensive experience and warm,
approachable demeanour, Angeline is a true asset to the
Shared Workspaces team and a shining example of the kind
and dedicated faces behind the success of Tauranga’s coworking
spaces.
