QPR FC WOMEN & GIRLS
QPR FC Women and QPR Girls’
competitive sides continue to
go from strength to strength,
while our Under-10s will be
competing in mixed football
once again this season as we
aim to keep strengthening our
female pathway.
From the start of the 2022/23
campaign, we are delighted to
announce that all our female
age groups are back within
the QPR Trust bracket, as we
continue to offer opportunity
and strive for excellence.
Of course, we are proud to
continue our connection with
Lionesses’ match-winner
Chloe Kelly, a graduate of the
QPR FC Girls programme who
returned to Loftus Road to
celebrate her England success.
QPR COLLEGE ACADEMY
During the 2021/22 academic
year, we introduced our
very own QPR College
Academy Women’s team – a
programme for post-16
students who train and play
alongside their education.
We are pleased that students
from our Academy have
followed the pathway into
both the QPR FC Women’s
first and reserve teams – with
several making a number of
appearances for both sides.
Two of our students have
progressed even further,
having recently signed for
FA Women’s Super League
academies. Jessica Francis-
Weir and Harriet Stiles-
Winfield have joined West Ham
United Women and Tottenham
Women respectively – a feat
of which our College Academy
are immensely proud.
The Trust run a post-16
football and education
programme for girls and
boys, with the players earning
educational qualifications
while playing games and
representing QPR. Players
can study for A-Levels or
a BTEC while training and
playing games in competitive
leagues, and many have gone
on to join professional and
semi-professional clubs. The
programme is delivered at
Rectory Park, home of the
Middlesex FA.
Throughout the college
academy season, both girls
performed impressively in the
league and cup, with Jessica
scoring 11 goals in 10 games
for the R’s and Harriet notching
four goals and 12 assists in
six games. As a result of their
impressive performances,
several WSL clubs kept the pair
on their watch lists.
“In the past year, I’ve really
enjoyed being at the QPR
College Academy,” said
Jessica. “The coaches have
been supportive in my football
and educational development,
and I’ve made some great
friends during my time here.
“I’d like to thank Ram and all
the coaches at QPR, and I look
forward to my next challenge.”
QPR’s College Academy host
boys’ and girls’ trials throughout
the year. The College Academy
has become a key part of our
female pathway, with several
students taking their coaching
badges while they are studying
with us, enabling them to
support our younger girls’
Wildcats sessions.

Our female programmes
don’t stop there – the
philosophy across the Trust
is to inspire and create
opportunities and as such we
have some exciting projects
and partnerships coming up
in the next few months.
The excitement generated
by the Women’s European
Championships last summer
has helped girls and women to
be more widely represented
in sport and hopefully that will
fuel their drive to continue
participating in whatever
form they like.
