Dinosaurs come to town<br />

They are not show ponies—they<br />
are big,loud,have giantteeth,<br />
claws and move.<br />
They are the closest people will<br />
ever get to experiencing lifesized<br />
dinosaurs in their<br />
neighbourhood.<br />
<strong>North</strong> <strong>Canterbury</strong> gets achance<br />
to get up close and personal with<br />
dinosaurs this weekend when The<br />
Amazing Dinosaur Discovery Show<br />
opens on Saturday morning at the<br />
RangioraA&P Showgrounds,for<br />
atwoday season.<br />
The interactive dinosaur walkthrough<br />
brings prehistoric times<br />
alive with 30 lifelike dinosaurs on<br />
display.<br />
Tour director PaulJohnson<br />
says inside eachrealistic<br />
dinosaurare 10 motors which<br />
operate the heads, arms, legs,<br />
eyes, bodies and mouths of his<br />
creations.<br />
“They are accurately modelled<br />
on realskeletons foundin<br />
America and China.<br />
“It took ninemonths for the<br />
specialist model makers to craft<br />
these interactiveanimatronic<br />
displays.,<br />
"We are hereinRangiorafor<br />
just two days, withfour shows this<br />
weekend.”<br />
He says the displays will allow<br />
people to understand how these<br />
enormouscreatures ruled the<br />
earth over60million yearsago as<br />
they awake,roar, move and soar<br />
above visitors, seeminglyalmost<br />
alive.<br />
