HERISSON ZELENKA Pasticcio Barocco Sonates en Trio ZWV 181, No.4, No.5, No.6 These works were composed between 1720 and 1722 and one can imagine Zelenka himself playing the violin part, enjoying making music with friends. She lives in Florence and teaches at RNCM. Her debut album on MDG features imaginative and impassioned interpretations and a very personal and profound vision of these works. She presents emotionally subtle and powerfully energetic performances. Terian et al Legends of the XX century – Boris Goldstein violin Boris Goldstein became well known to the Russian public at the age of only nine, when he performed Mendelssohn’s violin concerto with the Moscow Radio Orchestra. He was a soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic Society for 35 years, but was only allowed to go on tours abroad twice. He left the USSR in 1974, settling in Hannover. Here he performs concertos by Mendelssohn, Konyus and Feltsman. His fame as a pianist was ensured when he won second prize in the first All Union Competion for Musician-Performers (Gilels won first prize). The recordings on this CD were made in the fifties and sixties and include Three Menuets and Ten Ecossaises by Schubert and Four Sketches by Schumann. Guzman et al Legends of the XX century – Yacov Slobodkin cellist Yacov Slobodkin died in 2009 and was one of the most eminent musicians of the 20 th century, belonging to the set of brilliant performers who had won international recognition for Russian performing art.
