Alymamah Rashed is a talented<br />
Kuwaiti visual artist whose work<br />
explores <strong>the</strong>mes of identity and <strong>the</strong><br />
natural environment, often through<br />
<strong>the</strong> lens of her own body and experiences.<br />
Through her art, she skillfully navigates her<br />
female subjectivity <strong>in</strong> relation to local folklore,<br />
<strong>the</strong> mundane objects of everyday life, and her<br />
encounters with botanical specimens found<br />
<strong>in</strong> her home country.<br />
Alymamah obta<strong>in</strong>ed her MFA <strong>in</strong> F<strong>in</strong>e Arts<br />
from Parsons School of Design <strong>in</strong> 2019 and her<br />
BFA <strong>in</strong> F<strong>in</strong>e Arts from The School of Visual Arts<br />
<strong>in</strong> 2016. Dur<strong>in</strong>g her time <strong>in</strong> New York City, she<br />
participated <strong>in</strong> several exhibitions, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />
at <strong>the</strong> Czech Center, Parsol Projects, and The<br />
New School. She has also been recognized<br />
for her exceptional talent and dedication to<br />
her craft, receiv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> Masters Scholarship<br />
and <strong>the</strong> Merit Scholarship program from <strong>the</strong><br />
Kuwait M<strong>in</strong>istry of Higher Education. She was<br />
also a fellow at <strong>the</strong> Professional Development<br />
Initiative Program sponsored by <strong>the</strong> National<br />
U.S-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Kuwait<br />
M<strong>in</strong>istry of Higher Education, Embassy of<br />
Kuwait, and <strong>the</strong> Kuwait Foundation for <strong>the</strong><br />
Advancement of Sciences.<br />
Alymamah’s work has been featured <strong>in</strong> a<br />
number of prestigious publications, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Vogue Arabia,<br />
Architectural Digest, and Farfetch. She has<br />
also been featured <strong>in</strong> The Visionary Project,<br />
a platform dedicated to promot<strong>in</strong>g and<br />
highlight<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> work of Arab artists, and her<br />
art has been <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> 7 Days: Expanded<br />
Edition by AC Books.<br />
In her art, Alymamah offers a fresh and<br />
thought-provok<strong>in</strong>g perspective on <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>tersection<br />
of identity, culture, and <strong>the</strong> natural world.<br />
Her work is marked by a deep curiosity and<br />
sensitivity, and she expertly uses a range of<br />
mediums to explore <strong>the</strong>se <strong>the</strong>mes. Whe<strong>the</strong>r<br />
through pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g, sculpture, or mixed media,<br />
Alymamah’s art <strong>in</strong>vites viewers to engage with<br />
complex ideas <strong>in</strong> a way that is both accessible<br />
and deeply mov<strong>in</strong>g. As she cont<strong>in</strong>ues to<br />
push <strong>the</strong> boundaries of her craft, Alymamah<br />
