Lake Brunner
Hidden on the southern shore of Lake
Brunner, surrounded by some of the
oldest protected podocarp rainforest in the
world, Lake Brunner Eco Lodge is a classic
wilderness retreat with native birds and
plants, glow worms, waterfalls and one of
the best stargazing spots in the West Coast.
This historic, cosy lodge was built in
1935 and runs on hydro-power from the
surrounding Carew Falls, and is run by
owners, the Lynch Family who took over
managing the lodge in April this year.
The Lodge features seven suites, a twobedroom
cottage, Mitchells Restaurant and
Bar for dining.
The environment offers many ways to
further explore the West Coast landscape
including the private outdoor hot tub
only a few minutes from your suite and
includes many outdoor activities from
angling for brown trout in Lake Brunner,
or salmon in the surrounding rivers to
hiking up the nearby Mount French or
Te Kinga tracks. The Lake Brunner Eco
Lodge experience extends far beyond the
Lodge.

Over the Hill and Far Away
West Coast iconic photographer
Stewart Nimmo is revealing two new
collection of photographs.
Stewart is well known for his local
landscapes, but this time he’s been
working on something a little different,
with all images taken away from his
usual stomping ground.
Over the Hill is a series of square
black and white images taken from
adventures around the South Island,
while Far away is a mini-series of
images from the other side of the world
by both Stewart & daughter Lydia.
The collection will be open in-store
and online from Saturday 8th July.
