of two, who has triple-negative, invasive<br />
breast cancer.<br />
Natasha Lombart was diagnosed in<br />
March and has been receiving chemotherapy<br />
to treat her cancer since April.<br />
For the treatment to have the highest<br />
chance of clearing all tumour cells from<br />
Lombart’s body, she needs immunotherapy,<br />
a $100,000 treatment not funded<br />
in New Zealand.<br />
On its own, chemotherapy has a 50 per<br />
cent chance of eliminating the cancer cells.<br />
But with the immunotherapy treatment,<br />
that is boosted to 67 per cent. Immunotherapy<br />
will also boost her three-year<br />
survival rate to 87 per cent, Lombart said.<br />
“That’s a massive win.”<br />
So, to raise enough money for her<br />
treatment, an England-based childhood<br />
friend of Lombart’s used work connections<br />
to engage celebrities such as Gallagher<br />
and <strong>Star</strong>r, and sports stars like England<br />
football captain Harry Kane and boxing<br />
legend of the 1980s Sugar Ray Leonard.<br />
