Step into the future of education at Progress Campus. The awe-inspiring A Building is a true landmark that
embodies our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and serves as a physical framework to address the
effects of colonization in Canada. This groundbreaking structure showcases the country's first zero-carbon,
mass timber higher-education building, and it signifies our dedication to fostering understanding, healing,
and inclusivity.
THE BENEFITS
Inspired by Indigenous principles and the Mi’kmaq concept of two-eyed seeing, the building is a
welcoming space for all students. The interior planning — characterized by flexible, engaging, diverse,
inclusive, and sustainable spaces — ensures equitable design for everyone.
WHAT’S INSIDE
The building contains classrooms, labs, spaces for student engagement, and administration and
faculty offices. Responsive to a wide range of cultural and gender needs, it also includes an Indigenous
Commons, Indigenous offices, and an elder room; gender neutral bathrooms; lactation rooms;
and a multi-faith room.
