more personal,” Turner said.
“Also, money for outreach
is super important,” she said.
“When I had money for a
monthly newsletter, everybody
knew what other guys were
doing.”
Turner said that a number of
landowners joined the project in
its last year, after they “saw that
everybody else was doing it.”
The positive experience of
neighbors helped win over
those who had been reluctant to
take on a conservation project
with government involvement
and funding.
“There’s not a lot of trust in
the government,” she said.
