ARIEL ANTON
Ariel Anton is an officer in the California Army National Guard as well as an accomplished artist.
A recent graduate of Cal-Poly, San Luis Obispo, she grew up on the family farm raising and showing
her own livestock at county fairs through the 4H Club and developed a love for farm animals
and the work it requires to raise them. She taught herself acrylic painting in her family’s backyard
starting at the age of 14. Ariel began exhibiting her paintings in her teens at multiple county fairs,
as well as the California State Fair
for several years. Although she never
expected to keep painting after high
school, the love for the process was
still there. While pursuing a B.S. in
Agriculture Science and a minor in
Dairy Science, Ariel began painting
animals by commission. As her paintings
gained popularity, she began to
dial in on her skill of painting livestock
portraits with eyes full of expression
and hides that looked silky
to the touch. Her senior project, the
capstone to earning her diploma, was
an educational series of “Art About
Agriculture” which shared her working
knowledge of agriculture through
her paintings to start a conversation
about agricultural misconceptions
and little-known facts about animal
agriculture. It is her dream to make
painting a full-time career.
