VICKI PEDERSEN
Grateful to see the world through an artist’s eyes, Vicki was born and raised in Utah. She and her
husband of 45 years live in Riverside, CA but they spend lots of time in the places they really love
-- Utah and Wyoming. She is a life-long artist with a passion for oil painting. She focuses mostly
on painting the American West -- cowboys and cowgirls, Native Americans, deserts and mountains
and of course, horses. She works primarily in oils but also loves to work in graphite and charcoal.
Vicki is enthralled by light, and tries to capture light, whether direct or reflected, in her paintings.
Her goal in art is that the viewer sees the light and that they feel a connection with the subject
and gain a deeper appreciation for the splendor of our world. “Magnificent”, is the first word that
comes to mind
when looking
at one of Vicki’s
paintings. She
captures the
moment spot
on without the
benefit of firsthand
knowledge.
And that is
what a true
artist does and
she does it very
well. Thus, it is
no surprise that
Vicki is juried
into well-known
art shows
throughout the
West and wins
awards at most
of them. Vicki
is a Signature
Member and
Treasurer of
Women Artists
of the West
and a Member
of the National
Oil and Acrylic
Painters Society.
