Christmas:
Herb Turkey
By: Jace Brown
Christmas
After stealing a few of Santa’s cookies you
may want something a little lighter for
Christmas dinner. A traditional Christmas
turkey may be the solution. Roasted turkey
being enjoyed on Christmas first dates to
the 1500s and was enjoyed nearly
exclusively by the exorbitantly wealthy. It
wasn’t until centuries later that the dish
became a cultural Christmas staple.
Herb Turkey
1. After cleaning out a ten lb. turkey, season
it with one tablespoon of rosemary, sage,
thyme, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add a full
apple into the cavity.
2. Tie the legs with kitchen string and pour
two cups of apple cider into the pan.
3. Wrap the turkey in tin foil and cook until
the internal temperature is 165 degrees,
and the skin is golden brown.
