This year we celebrate our<br />
20th anniversary, two<br />
decades of producing<br />
a much loved and respected<br />
magazine.<br />
Meeting some wonderful South Yorkshire folk<br />
along the way, we have laughed and even cried, well<br />
probably me as l am a softie at times!<br />
One thing we have learned from the job is that you<br />
are never too old to make a difference to the lives<br />
of others. None more fitting of this is Cynthia Shaw<br />
who at the age of 84 has been presented with an<br />
MBE by King Charles III in honour of her work in the<br />
community.<br />
You can make a difference whatever your age.<br />
Teenager Alexandria Crystal is the youngest ever Miss<br />
England semi-finalist, but the 15-year-old is using<br />
this platform to promote dyslexia awareness and her<br />
hometown of Barnsley.<br />
On a personal level, this will be my 40th year in the<br />
media industry staring out in telesales for my local<br />
newspaper back in 1984. I really don’t know where the<br />
years have gone! Becoming a grandparent last year<br />
will hopefully keep me young at heart and I am loving<br />
this new chapter in my life.<br />
