Apple pie contest planned<br />

for Apple Butter Day<br />

<strong>Groveport</strong> Mayor Lance Westcamp said<br />

the Apple Butter Day committee is cooking<br />

up something new for this year’s event,<br />

which will be held on Oct.12.<br />

He said this year there will be an apple<br />

pie baking contest featuring homemade<br />

pies baked by residents.<br />

More information about the contest will<br />

Income tax revenue<br />

The city of <strong>Groveport</strong>’s income tax collections<br />

year-to-date as of Jan. 31 were<br />

$3.5 million, which is 43 percent higher<br />

than the same time in 2022, according to<br />

<strong>Groveport</strong> Finance Director Jason Carr.<br />

Carr noted the general fund balance was<br />

$16,7 million as of Jan. 31, which is $6<br />

million higher than the same time last<br />

year. Income tax revenues year-to-date<br />

comprised 80 percent of all city revenues,<br />

the largest part of all the city’s revenues.<br />

Total Eclipse Party<br />

The city of <strong>Groveport</strong> will host a Total<br />

Eclipse Party on April 8 from 2-3:30 p.m.<br />

at KidSpace, 630 Wirt Road, <strong>Groveport</strong>.<br />

Bring your lawn chair. Special viewing<br />

glasses and snacks will be provided. For<br />
