January crime statistics, according to
the Groveport Police: 10 arrests, 13 accidents,
2 assaults, 2 burglaries, 14 domestic
related calls, 1 OVI, 15 larceny/robberies, 3
stolen/unauthorized use, 1 missing persons,
1 weapon related calls, 3 threats, 8
vandalism, 5 juvenile complaints, 56/91
traffic citations/traffic stops, 1 sex related
crime, 19 school related calls, 23/6 suspicious
vehicles/persons, 7 suicide
attempts/mental health calls.

Apple pie contest planned
for Apple Butter Day
Groveport Mayor Lance Westcamp said
the Apple Butter Day committee is cooking
up something new for this year’s event,
which will be held on Oct.12.
He said this year there will be an apple
pie baking contest featuring homemade
pies baked by residents.
More information about the contest will
be released later.

Income tax revenue
The city of Groveport’s income tax collections
year-to-date as of Jan. 31 were
$3.5 million, which is 43 percent higher
than the same time in 2022, according to
Groveport Finance Director Jason Carr.
Carr noted the general fund balance was
$16,7 million as of Jan. 31, which is $6
million higher than the same time last
year. Income tax revenues year-to-date
comprised 80 percent of all city revenues,
the largest part of all the city’s revenues.
Total Eclipse Party
The city of Groveport will host a Total
Eclipse Party on April 8 from 2-3:30 p.m.
at KidSpace, 630 Wirt Road, Groveport.
Bring your lawn chair. Special viewing
glasses and snacks will be provided. For
