Minor amendment to the enrolment scheme of Te Oraka<br />
The Ministry of Education is proposing a minor amendment to the enrolment scheme of Te Oraka (formerly<br />
Shirley Intermediate). This is to add their te reo Māori special programme – Te Tāhu Rua Reo, to their enrolment<br />
scheme.<br />
Students who meet the criteria for enrolment and live within the home zone must be enrolled ahead of out-of-zone<br />
students. Out-of-zone students who meet the criteria for enrolment in the special programme have priority in<br />
enrolment above all other out-of-zone students while special programme places are available. The enrolment of<br />
out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.<br />
