farmer and umpire, Paul Keitel<br />
made a difference in Eastern<br />
Iowa, as well as across the<br />
state.<br />
Keitel passed in January<br />
2022 of Large B Cell Lymphoma at the age<br />
of 62 after living 54 years on his farm south<br />
of DeWitt.<br />
He is among the Eastern Iowa farmers<br />
who have provided lasting contributions<br />
to the community through their life work,<br />
giving the next generation a strong foundation<br />
for success.<br />
Born Jan. 13, 1960, Keitel grew up on<br />
the farm purchased by his parents in 1950.<br />
His dad passed away shortly before his twin<br />
siblings were born, leaving 11 children to<br />
be cared for by his mother. Six years later,<br />
his mother married a widower with no<br />
