It was good to meet you at this past Animé
LA in your Princess Serenity cosplay.
Was it this anime or something
else that inspired you into cosplay?
It was lovely meeting you as well and
chatting at Animé LA. This was my
second ALA but the first time bringing
this version of Princess Serenity to
ALA we have nicknamed her sparkle
monster. So feel free to call her that
if you like! The dress was made by
@tacocat_cosplay for a project I was
apart of back home.
I’ve always been a fan of Sailor Moon
since as long as I can remember but it
was not this anime that got me into
cosplay. I have been going to anime
conventions in my home state of Colorado
since I was a teenager and was
always in awe of cosplayers and their
dedication to cosplay plus it looked like
a lot of fun. The first time I cosplayed,
I cosplayed as Rikku from Final Fantasy
X2 at my local con called Nan Desu
Kon. While there I met a whole group
of Sailor Moon cosplayers, which back
in the day that was a rare sight to see
and from then on I was starry-eyed
from it because of how cool and beautiful
they all were. Sadly, due to finances
and adult life I didn’t have the means
or time to really put myself out there.
Flash forward about 10 years later and
the help Instagram containing a whole
‘moonieverse’ of Sailor Moon cosplayers
whom encouraged me to push myself
to live my cosplay dreams out because
we only live once.
