Gosh, that’s one thing I want to get one of these
days…a 3D printer. Imagine all the things you
can make with it! That’s the one thing about cosplaying…meeting
new people. When I was cosplaying,
I got to meet a whole lot of people…
some have friends over a decade now. As far as
traveling, the farthest east I went was Houston…
Anime Matsuri. So wow! A Sailor Moon-themed
room. That’s cool.
Of all the cosplays you’ve done up to now…what
the most difficult one you had to put together in
time for a convention? And also, if you were to
do your next cosplay, what are your thoughts on
that deciding and why?
My wife has a 3D printer. It’s a lot harder
than it looks. So many of my things I try to
print end up looking like dried ramen.
The hardest cosplay I’ve put together was my
spin on Princess Serenity with a belly dance
flare. It wasn’t actually for a con though. My
crunch was for a student showcase for a world
dance studio I took lessons at. I had never
done beading before or some of the techniques
I used in making her costume. It definitely was
a learning experience which took more time
than I had hoped. On top of making the costume,
I was learning my music and choreographing
a 4 min performance. It end result
was a very rewarding experience. That whole
performed was exciting especially for props as
there was some staff spinning and wings of isis
combs going on!
