I can see where you’re coming from. For as long I
as was going to conventions, Anime Expo 1994
being my first ever anime convention, I’ve seen
first hand how cosplay evolved from something
few people do at conventions to how widespread it
is today. And yes, cosplaying is a lot of fun. As a
matter of fact, for a while several years ago, I cosplayed
Auron from Final Fantasy X. That’s also
the one thing I love about the cosplay community
is how they support each other. Life does get in
the way of hobbies, but I believe there has to be a
reasonable balance. I see that you had Sparkle
Monster commissioned. What would be your preferred
method to have your cosplay done…homemade
or bought? And your reasons for having
done that way?
Truly, it crazy how much cosplay has grown into
social norm in the past 20 years? I love Auron!
Funny enough Final Fantasy may be the only
game I’ve played all the way through more than
once lol! I’ve always wanted to cosplay Lulu!
That’s a hard question, I believe cosplay is for
everyone no matter your skill set, if you bought
the cosplay, made it yourself, or thrift stored it together.
I am not very talented in the costume creation
process so I’m very fortunate and thankful
to the commissioners I’ve worked with. These talented
people truly have made my cosplay dreams
true. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to do such
beautiful cosplays. I love to support their work
and proud to market them and share the makers
of the cosplays I wear. I have slowly been getting
into making but I’m not nearly as good so I definitely
support anyone who is like me a purchases
costumes, props, and wigs. it is important though
the we always credit the people who make stuff
for us. Though my Usagi looks in recent days the
wig which I had on when we met was bought by
Arda Wigs but proud to say styled/made by me!
I’m so proud of it as it’s my first full wig build.
