Message from Mayor Lake
Hindu Council of Australia
I recently attend the Hindu Council of Australia’s HOLI Mela
event at Holroyd Gardens in Merrylands. Holi, also known
as the “festival of colours,” is an ancient Hindu celebration
held on the spring equinox, coinciding with the Phalguna
Purnima (Full Moon). For many it marks the start of a new
year and encourages people to come together, let go of past grievances and
embrace forgiveness and harmony.
Eid al-Fitr Mubarak
On behalf of Cumberland
Council, I wish the Muslim
community an Eid al-Fitr
Mubarak during this joyous
occasion.
May this Eid prove to be very
special for you and your family,
and bring joy and peace to all.
Have a safe and happy
Eid al-Fitr!
