MSA GB Annual General Meeting
Minutes of 89th Annual General
Meeting held on
23rd March 2024
MSA GB Annual General Meeting was held in
the Telford Hotel & Golf Resort, Telford.
1. Chairman’s Welcome
The Chairman, Mike Yeomans, opened the
89th AGM at 12.35pm, introduced the agenda
and welcomed attendees. There were 62
people present. He reminded them that only
members should vote.
2. Convening Notice
The Chairman read out the Formal Notice
of meeting.
3. Apologies
Apologies were received from Mr. Rod
Came. London & South East.
4. Adoption of Previous Minutes
Minutes of 88th AGM held virtually on 11th
March 2023, were proposed by Mr. Alex
Brownlee, London & South East and
Seconded by Mr. Bryan Phillips, Scotland & NI.
Carried unanimously.
5. Matters Arising
There were no matters arising.
6. Adoption of Financial Statement
The Chairman invited Mr. Peter Harvey, the
vice chairman, to introduce the financial
report for the year ending 30th November
2023. This had been sent to members in
advance of the meeting and was available to
view on the website or in Newslink.
There were no questions and the vice
chairman asked for a proposer to accept the
financial statement. Mr. Karl Satloka East
Coast proposed, and was seconded by Mr.
Neil Whiteman, East Coast.
Carried unanimously.
7. Adoption of the Annual Report
The board continually strives to make
further improvements to membership
throughout the year and in many cases are
the first to offer updates and changes to the
profession.
The Annual Report was proposed by Mr.
Alex Brownlee, London & South East and
MSA GB Board, 2024-25. From left, Peter Harvey MBE, Steven Porter, Mike Yeomans,
Tom Kwok and Arthur Mynott
seconded by Mr. Karl Satloka East Coast.
Carried unanimously.
8. Board Chairman
Mr. Peter Harvey MBE announced that the
board had nominated Mr. Mike Yeomans to
continue as chairman for the ensuing year.
Received with acclamation.
9. Board Vice National Chairman
The Chairman installed Mr. Peter Harvey
MBE, Scotland & NI as vice chairman.
Received with acclamation.
10. Board of Management
The Chairman introduced the Board of
Management for 2024/25.
Area 1: Scotland & Northern Ireland
Mr. Steven Porter.
Area 2: East Coast
Mr. Mike Yeomans
Area 3: London & South East
Mr. Tom Kwok
Area 4: West Coast
Mr. Arthur Mynott
The Chairman thanked the new Board for
their continued commitment to the
Association.
11. Motion – from the Board of Management
The Board proposes Saffron Accountancy
Services Limited (Registration No:07941205,
Registered Office: 27 Chaucer Road, London,
E7 9LZ) be elected as MSA GB accountants
and auditors for the year 2023/24.
Proposed – The Chairman.
Carried unanimously.
12. Motion – from the Board of Management
The Board proposes that the annual
membership fee of the association should be
increased by £5 per annum and should be
implemented, from 1st May 2024.
Proposed – The Chairman.
Carried unanimously.
13. Meeting Close
The Chairman formally closed the meeting
and thanked everyone for attending his first
face to face AGM.
The chairman closed the 89th AGM at
