our words have power! Matthew
12:34 (ESV) reads “Words are powerful;
take them seriously. Words can be your
salvation. Words can also be your
damnation.” That’s pretty powerful!
In the beginning, there was nothing and
God spoke “Let there be” and it happened.
Romans 4:17, Paul writes “God, who gives
life to the dead and calls those things
which do not exist as though they did”
We can be trapped by the words of our
mouth.. Proverbs 18:21 (AMP) says
“Everytime you open your mouth to talk,
you speak life or death”. It is your faith
that activates God’s power in Your life.
Words have power, but you must believe
that what you’re speaking is going to
happen.
Your words are a tool to be used to help
you reach your goals. Your words have
creative power. This is the language of
God in which you no longer speak of the
problem, but of the solution. You must
silence the “mind-chatter” - silent loud
inner voice that

limits your dreams.
How can we silence that inner voice?
1. Declare God’s promises over your life.
Search the Bible and find scriptures of
God’s promises. Thank God for those
promises. Meditate on those promises.
Personalize them in your own life.
Speak those promises in faith. Exercise
patience. It doesn’t come automatically.
2. Declare your unique, individual desires.
What is something God has given you
that makes you unique? Whatever that
is, find the confidence you need to be
genuine and live in God’s truth.
3. Declare your dreams. It’s not just
enough to dream; you have to put fee to
the dream. In 1 Kings 3:5 God told
Solomon, “Ask for whatever you want
me to give you.” A dream gives us
hope for the future and brings us power
in the present.
Dare to open your mouth and fill it with
God’s promises for your life.

Reflections from Mayberry
May Reflections

W
e traveled down to the Outer banks of
NC to sing a couple of weeks ago. Our niece
lives there so we went a few days early to
spend some time with her and her family. It
was good just to have a day to relax before
singing. The church we sang at had the
sweetest bed and breakfast named Saving
Grace. The pastor’s wife had fixed the house
up with all kinds of little notes and surprises
for all of us. There was such a sweet Spirit
there and all three of us caught up on our
sleep, rest and quiet time. I’m telling you all
this to tell you as a Mom, Dad, Child, and a
Ministry we all need time to unplug and
refocus! Sometimes we get in too big of a
hurry to slow down and ask God what HE
needs us to do.
Our service that Sunday morning was
amazing. So many people weeping, rejoicing
and worshiping during the service. After we
got back to our place that afternoon, I got a
message from one of the ladies that was in
the morning service. She had lost her
husband and they had adopted a special
needs son and they had fostered several
children before they adopted their son. This
was her words to me….”You all were meant
to be here today for me.” She went on to tell
me she was having a hard time with her son
being defiant and disobedient. She said
she spent most of the morning in the
bathroom crying and asking God to help
her. The funny thing is, I had talked with
her son at the table that morning and told
him about our New Journey Radio App
and showed him how to download it. He
and his Mom are listeners now. I am
believing that God will use New Journey
Radio in that young man’s life and things
will change for him and his Mom.
When we go out to share our ministry we
pray we are a blessing but SO many times
we are the ones that receive the blessing.
That church, that young man, and his
Mom and getting to spend time with our
niece and her family were exactly what our
ministry needed and God gave us
confirmation that we were what they
needed. Take time to spend with God,
unplug and revive, and watch God work.

Caleb Howard
Caleb Ray Howard was born in
Whitesburg, KY. He has moved around some
to different places but lives back in his
hometown now.
Caleb started singing just here and there as a
young kid with dad, uncles, cousins in church,
and family get togethers, but didn’t really get
involved in music, until around 17. It was
then that he learned to play guitar and learn
songs to sing. He got saved at the age of 18.
It was his freshman year of college and it was
then that he really really became more
passionate about gospel music.

Christian/Country. I do songs with a more
contemporary feel along with praise and
worship as well especially in churches.
Caleb has been blessed to have two #1 songs
on SGN Scoops Christian Country chart “Just
Another Storm” in 2022 and “Bring It All” in
2023. A song called “Always Something” went
to #2 on that chart as well in 2023. He has
also had other charting songs as well.
Caleb spoke of his earliest influences that
most likely planted seeds for ministry and
said it would be his mom. “She was always
playing Jimmy Swaggart sermons, records,
and cassettes of his songs. The Hinsons, The
Cookes, The Happy Goodmans, Charles
Johnson and The Revivers were always
playing. My dad was always playing guitar
and singing songs by singer/songwriters Don
Francisco and Dallas Holm so when I became
a Christian, I was drawing from that. The
singers who had a deep effect on Caleb
would have been The Crabb Family, The
Imperials, Phillips, Craig and Dean, and
Steven Curtis Chapman. Caleb has always

Caleb has just released his latest album in
March of 2024 titled “Bring It All”. The newest
radio single, “Water Grave” has just released
to radio in April so I’m excited about that one.
Most of Caleb’s music is available on Apple,

The Browns,
Release Breakthrough
Nashville, TN (April 14, 2023) – StowTown
Records has announced the release of a
brand new album from The Browns.
Breakthrough features the gifted musical
family at their very best, with the moving, rich
harmonies and first-class arrangements that
have made them a favorite among audiences
nationwide. Breakthrough is distributed by
Provident/Sony and is available for download
and streaming.
Growing up near the quiet town of Le Mars,
The Browns enjoyed the simple pleasures of
life on a farm in rural Iowa. Their natural love
for music quickly began to capture the
attention of the locals and before long, that
local attention turned to national acclaim.
Over the years, their musical talents have
afforded them the opportunity to travel across
the country, yet their love for their home
ommunity runs deep. A testament to this lies
in their commitment to develop the Browns
Century Theater, a historic building in
downtown Le Mars that the family bought and
remodeled just a few years ago in order to
present concerts and theatrical events in their
hometown. Although the majority of their time
is spent at the theater, the group continues to
travel nationally, presenting live events in
support of new music like their brand new
release from StowTown.
Breakthrough is the eighth recording on which
The Browns have partnered with multi-award
winning producer and arranger, Wayne Haun.
“I remember seeing The Browns for the first
time in Owensboro, Kentucky, at a talent
contest,” recalls Wayne. “They were all kids.
In fact, Andrew was so small they had to
stand him up in a chair to be seen. I knew
there was great potential even then. Here we
are some 20 years later, and they are all
grown up and hitting a home run every night.
Their voices are mature and unique. They
have created their own sound that is fresh
and commercial. I’m just grateful they let me
be a part of the journey.”
The Browns have enjoyed a great relationship
with Wayne through the years, and with his
guidance, their primary focus continues to be
on the songs themselves. “We love making
music!” exclaims Michaela Brown. “These
songs we chose for the Breakthrough album
are songs that we not only love to sing, but
also relate to on a personal level. We love the
messages they convey, the hope they bring
and the joy they spread to those who hear
them!”
The debut single, the title cut “Breakthrough,”
was shipped to radio in January 2023, and
quickly made its debut in the Top 50. The

success of the single was no surprise as
the group has consistently appealed to
radio listeners over the years and has
enjoyed numerous Top 40 radio hits.
Written by veteran songwriters Sue C.
Smith, Shane Dunlap and Haun,
“Breakthrough” is a song of
encouragement to anyone who has ever
faced life’s challenges. The song’s
powerful message is complemented by a
masterful arrangement that enraptures the
listener to a place of confident peace.

In addition to “Breakthrough,” the
recording is filled with several other
original songs from talented writers like
Don Koch, Joel Lindsey, Jeff Bumgardner
and Marcia Henry, including “Move,” a fun
song that combines fiddles with the
electric guitar on a melodic line – a
musical pairing first for Wayne Haun. Don
Koch was a big musical influence for
many, including Haun, during the 1990s;
and so recording his brand new song “No
One Greater” is a highlight for all involved.
Lyrically, the song celebrates the victory
Christ offers during life’s storms. And the
Browns always feature a classic on their
albums. “Try A Little Kindness,” originally
recorded by Glen Campbell, is sure to
become a concert favorite among fans of
The Browns.
