WALK IN THE ENCLOSURE - BURIAL<br />

MOUNDS AND LONG BARROWS<br />

The tour begins at Græsted Station. Follow the Græsted Perimeter Path on the left side of the<br />

railway tracks to the bridge that leads over Ny Mårumvej. <strong>En</strong>ter the forest at the parking lot.<br />

Keep to the right around the lake.<br />

After 100 meters, keep to the right. Turn left. Where the path splits, <strong>tur</strong>n right and then right<br />

again onto Vibepladsvej. Go straight through the intersection. Where the path ends, <strong>tur</strong>n right<br />

and then left at the first opportunity. You will come to a small campsite. Turn right, and the path<br />

ends at a small parking lot. Here you can fill your water bottle. Turn left onto the gravel road. At<br />

the end of the road, <strong>tur</strong>n right. Turn left onto Hemmingstrupvej. Here you will find<br />

Fuglebjerggaard, a farm shop, and café.<br />

Continue along the road. 100 meters before the road ends, <strong>tur</strong>n right onto a narrow path. Turn<br />

left in the forest. Turn left where the path ends. Follow the path around in a gentle curve. The<br />

path ends at a parking lot. Turn right and then left after about 100 meters onto Stendyssevej. On<br />

the right-hand side, you will find long barrows number 5 and 6. At each site, you can call an<br />

audio guide and hear the history. Re<strong>tur</strong>n to the route and continue along the path to number 7<br />

on the right. Number 8 is beautifully situated at a crossroads, <strong>tur</strong>n left. You will also pass number<br />

16, which is a rise in the landscape and not marked.<br />

Turn right at the first opportunity. Where the road splits, <strong>tur</strong>n right. You will recognize the place<br />

by the road to the left called "Den Navnløse". You now come to number 9, which is the best<br />

preserved. On the left, you pass number 10. Continue straight. Turn right and continue across<br />

the parking lot. Turn left onto the asphalt road. Follow cycle route 703 to Helsinge Station.<br />
