Message from the PRESIDENT of the University Dear Students, Zayed University is committed to helping you to fulfill your potential and to be successful. Every effort of the University is directed to providing you with the knowledge, skills, and interests that will support you in the future. This Student Handbook describes the structure and opportunities that characterize the total educational experience offered at Zayed University. At Zayed University, we expect you to challenge yourselves, and to make the best use of your university years. We expect you to work diligently and to get to know faculty, staff, and other students and to learn from them. We expect you to develop independent habits of learning – habits that enable you to become enlightened citizens, visionary leaders and life-long learners. To help you in this endeavor, as described in this Handbook, the University provides a rich array of library and learning resources and academic services. This Handbook also outlines the rules and responsibilities for all students, necessary to ensure that the University continues to develop as an orderly, open, and productive learning community. At Zayed University, you also have extraordinary opportunities beyond the classroom to develop your talents, skills, and interests. International tours, exploring the world of work, research activities, special lectures, student organizations, internships, and more are all available to you here. This Handbook will give you an overview – and also signal to you the importance of seeking those special opportunities that challenge and reward you. By taking full advantage of these opportunities, you will meet the high expectations that are central to the mission of the University. And you will gain the most from your years at Zayed University in personal, academic, and professional growth. I am confident that all of you will meet all expectations and make the best use of your Zayed University experience. Message from the office of STUDENT LIFE Dear Students, You have entered a very exciting period in your life which will bring you much joy and fulfillment. As a student at Zayed University you have a special legacy from our University founder, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al- Nahyan. His dedication and support of higher education is legendary both in the U.A.E. and through the world. As a student you will be asked to honor his memory through your hard work, honesty, respect, and fairness and will be expected to the highest standards of conduct and academic excellence. You will be provided with challenges and support to achieve successes you never thought were possible. In the classroom, you will engage with excellent faculty who will guide you as you expand your knowledge and views of the world. Outside the classroom, the staff in Student Affairs and other units will assist you to solve problems you may encounter, as well as encourage your involvement in the learning opportunities of clubs and activities on campus.
