u LEAD Officers These students have completed a minimum Level 1-LEAD Program certificate and help facilitate LEAD Workshops and other leadership activities at ZU. Student Success: Ma’an Nata’alam The Student Success/Ma’an Nata’alam program provides one-on-one student support, academic skills workshops and specialized academic support services for all interested students at Zayed University. The professionally trained staff are specialists in college student development and academic support. They offer individualized programming, all- campus workshops and in-class workshops in study skills, test taking, time management, presentation skills, and other academic skills. Contact the Office of Student Life for more information. Sports and Recreation The Office of Student Life offers a wide range of team sports, exercise and wellness classes, fitness and other related activities to all students at Zayed University. Selected activities include a walking club; yoga; Karate; football; aerobics; volleyball; basketball; table tennis; tennis and a range of other sports. Please check with the Office of Student Life for the most up-to-date information. Counseling There is a personal counselor available full time on each campus for individual and group counseling for students. The Office of Student Life presents workshops and support groups on study skills, decision- making, conflict management, test taking, etc. New workshops are formed to address student needs and ensure student success. CAMPUS LIFE Family Outreach Zayed University reaches out to families and students to help students succeed in their studies. There are family events, parents’ nights and orientation for families of students. Family outreach staff also assist students who are not fluent in English with concerns such as financial aid. For assistance, stop by and talk with the Family Outreach staff. Students with Special Needs Zayed University recognizes that students with a variety of special needs will enter the University’s programs. Individuals with special needs often require additional services, considerations or other supports beyond the needs of most other students. The University will attempt to provide support to students identified as having special or additional needs based on available resources. The Personal Counselors in the Office of Student Life provide assessment, intervention and skill building assistance to students with learning difficulties to support their academic success. Financial Assistance Zayed University offers limited financial assistance to students who request help in purchasing laptops or providing meals or transportation. You may apply to the Office of Student Support for financial assistance. Zayed University through the Office of Enrollment Management offers a limited number of tuition waivers to International Students. Tuition waivers are for 50% or 100% of tuition but do not cover additional costs such as laptops, food or transport.
