Benefits to alumni include invitations to campus events, information on education, employment and volunteer opportunities, and an Alumni ID card that allows access to campus access, library privileges, and local vendor discounts. The Alumni Affairs Office also facilitates communication between graduates and the University. The Office wants to keep you up-to-date on University activities, job vacancies, and your ZU family and friends. LIBRARY AND LEARNING RESOURCES Library and Learning Resources You will find that the library is an exciting place with many resources for reading, research and individual study. Librarians are available to assist you in finding information and using information. The Library has a range of resources in both Arabic and English, including books, magazines and newspapers, CDs, videos, graded English readers, and the Emirate Collection. The Library provides equipment to scan, print, photocopy, and laminate documents. Data-ports for your laptop and desktop computers (including Macs) are available to search online databases and the Web, to write reports, and to work on projects. You may check out books, videos, cassettes and kits by presenting your student ID card. You are responsible for all materials you borrow and you are expected to return them when they are due. If you do not return books, at the end of the term you will be billed for them and will not receive grade reports until your library record is cleared. CAMPUS LIFE Learning Enhancement Center The Learning Enhancement Center (LEC) is open to help you with writing, reading and listening in both English and Arabic and in improving your math skills. Library staff offer individualized instruction to students, small groups and specialized courses. Librarians, staff and advanced students, called peer tutors, can provide extra help. The LEC is open during the same hours as the Library. Curriculum Resource Center The Curriculum Resource Center (CRC) is a special library space where students who are learning to become teachers find kits, tools, K - 12 textbooks, children’s literature and books about education.
