Page 10 Innotech Fear of losing A fear one must not fear to have… H old on friends! It is neither a woeful saga of melodramatic events nor the narration of some morbid song. Look through the other side of the prism, everything will be seen at an oblique angle. Fear of losing is an emotion which lay beneath the sundry other feelings of a human. Believe me folks; it is an indelible fostering catalyst which could help us to sail smoothly through this complicated life. It is a universal solution to all problems. It is the best way to keep our success intact with us always. Life is strange, weird and many times harsh. Well let’s not define it and load you with yet another descriptive version of it. We think, we plan, and we create and invest all the energies to achieve things. But what goes wrong after achieving something? Oscar winner actor Halle Berry received the worst actor award the very next year, she won the Oscar. What caused the extreme reversal? Simple – she did not have that fear of losing her top position. A man was going to divorce his wife and the same day he discovered about her cancer. He soon realized what he was going to lose and he went into a state of eternal grief, shame and vengeance and tore the papers at once. He discovered the pain of losing and decided not to lose her before the almighty would separate them forever. It’s difficult to scale the craggy heights to reach the zenith but it’s rather more difficult to stay there because the tops are always pointed, they are not flat. A topper who has been maintaining his legacy for 3 years suddenly topples down to the group of last rankers of the class. If only he had that fear of losing his position, he would have worked harder. We often forget our killing instinct and passion after conquering our goals and tasting the wine of glory. Success is just a respite in this miraculous journey of life whereby the ultimate aim is to achieve salvation and the penultimate one is to win material laurels viz. money and fame. It’s important to understand that a subtle boundary line exists between success and failure. Fear of losing helps you to remain in that realm of success. Its operation may be a bit flummoxing but its effect is profound. For centuries it has been taught that “jo dar gaya ,samjho mar gaya”. Recently, it was divulged that this was also the motivational punch line for the superlucky 1983 Indian cricket team. But by the end of this article, if you will be kind enough to strain your eyes to read it all, I am sure all of you will try to recreate a little fear in your lives. Do they deem it to be a bliss ! Or is it that they know it all, And can handle all big and small Is there really time to now halt, Or is there is any scope for a fault ? TIME LOST IS A LIFE UNDONE, It is a waste too heavy for fun. If today I can be dedicated- My labour of today will be heeded. There’ll always be time to enjoy, But why laugh now and later cry, Better slog my way to success- And find my way out of this abyss. It is easier to do things I like, But on red hot iron I’ve to strike. If today I delay my action, I’ll forever lose my own direction. I’ll drift- a leaf on waters flowing, I’ll be a dust flake in winds blowing. People can sing in alacrity, But their merriment is insanity. Actions done at the right time- Yield joys and realms sublime. Don’t undo life at your own hands- Leave your footprints on time’s sand… ANONYMOUS
