Yonder lay the photocopied binds
Beckoning the courage of mankind.
A night awaits the knell forlorn
An epic of survival, a sonnet of attitude reborn.
'We are our Desires,' they say,
O Desire, is this thy price we have to pay!
A time of reckoning, a period of devotion...
Mourning
to
There should have been some kind of magic potion.
For when you feel so powerless,
Everything impedes and results in more distress.
'CETRA BONUM CETRAMEN' becomes the flavour,
For 'one-night-fight' is a custom to savour.
Cog-sheets are a risky business; you'd hardly be able to cheat...
Morning
The basic knowledge of course content is anyway hard to meet!
Hourly thou maketh me dejected, thou maketh me torn,
There is hope though; it’s my 'make-up' in the morn…
THE PRETENDERS
aven’t we started living in an illusion or has the illusion come to life? Everyone pretends to be someone
else and the real self is lost in the abyss of this make-believe world. The shallow pleasure- seekers
pretend to be intellectuals while the intellectuals pretend to have found out the meaning of life and to
have transgressed to the next level of being. The rest of us, who aren’t lost in the fluidity of the pseudo- being are
cast in the rigid prejudices of the extreme type. Terrorist attacks by which the world today is plagued have proved
top be a double-edged sword; not only have they resulted in the loss of precious lives, but have also made us
retreat further into our protective shells of close- knit society of similar individuals. Everyone is typecast into a
certain category- the shallow teenagers, the young activists, the brooding intellectuals, the glamorous dolls, the
simple- minded, middle- aged, middle- class people, etc, etc. If you don’t fit into a category, you are looked upon
at with suspicion. Life really is hard for those who are the least bit different- the conservatives shun them with an
intensity reserved for ‘such kind’, while the pseudo- liberals strut around with them like with a prize trophy that
declares their liberalism.
So, in case you are one of those unfortunately depressed people, who believe that their life is hollow for the lack of
any special talents- there’s good news: you are not quite so unfortunate, turns out the worth of a genuine soul, an
individual’s independent soul, is worth more than any multitudes of talent. Final moral- ‘you being your genuine
self make the world a better place, than you pretending to be someone else’.
Now if you have been reading this article pretending to sympathize with the idea behind it, don’t worry, Yours
truly, began writing it with quite a different plan, but ended up pretending that she has some idea what she is
talking about.
