Champions
They
Champions are not made in gyms.
They are made up of something, which is
deep inside them a dream, a desire, a vision.
They have to be little faster than others.
They have to have last minute stamina.
They have will and skill, but the will
must be stronger than skill.
College of Technology, Pantnagar, witnessed its first
national level sports fest ‘SPARDHA’ this year. Participants
from various reputed colleges showcased their
talents in this extravagant fest. With a huge number of
registrations the Stevenson stadium (venue for the
sports meet) was swarmed with sports persons and excited
spectators. High level of enthusiasm and the spirit
of competition filled every nook and corner of the stadium
from 17 th to 19 th October,’08.
The football match between the Pantnagar team and
the Dwarahat team gave a perfect start to the fest.
Events became a perfect outlet for aggression, zeal and
skills for the outstanding teams. With a total of nine
various sports, participants had an enormous opportunity
to present their exceptional sporting skills.
Darwin’s theory of ‘Survival of fittest’ was seen to exist
as the best teams emerged victorious in different sports.
Excitement reached its pinnacle and adrenalin pumped
to its maximum as the teams tried to outdo each other
in contending for the winning title. The teams showed
that sport is about competing well, not winning.
The organizers did a commendable work and their perseverance
proved fruitful as the fest was a great success.
The closing ceremony comprised of prize distribution
and a mesmerizing performance by ‘Goonj’, the college
band. Spardha provided a magnificent platform for the
sportspersons to exhibit their skills and prove their mettle.
Hats off to the organizers for adding another
feather in the cap of COT.
