Inspiration Formland
Inspiration is a central theme of the Formland Autumn 2011 trade fair for the
interior, decorative art and design sectors.
This year, the organisers are setting their sights even higher with, amongst
other things, workshops to help visitors find their own individual style.
This autumn’s edition will offer visitors real, practical purchasing tools. These
include a mood board to help them with their buying decisions.
In the House of Happiness area, visitors will be able to make their own
mood board in co-operation with interior designer Anette Eckmann.
“With a mood board, buyers can manage their purchases so that they
match the shop they are buying for,” explains Anette. “It’s all about creating
something unique and bringing the atmosphere from House of Happiness out
into the shops, so that the ideas become transplanted to the customers and
culminate in a sale.
“The name of the area - House of Happiness - should be taken literally. The
surroundings will exude the happiness and joie de vivre that we all seek in our
daily lives,” she adds.
Formland is Scandinavia’s leading trade fair for the interior, applied art,
furniture and design sectors. It is held twice a year and has up to 600
exhibitors. The 55 th Formland trade fair in MCH Messecenter Herning in
Denmark will be held from 18 th to 21 st August 2011.
In addition to four trend zones, the winner of the Formland Design Award,
an area devoted to fair trade products and a programme of presentations,
there will be areas focusing on Ethno Chic and Craft & Ceramics.

Joint venture
Emap and Mack Brooks Exhibitions have announced a new
joint-venture.
They are to form a new joint-venture company, EMAP-
Brooks International Ltd, to launch a range of new
international exhibitions to capitalise on Emap’s strength
as a trade show producer and Mack Brooks’ experience in
overseas event organising.
Emap produces over 300 business to business events a
year and its exhibition division Emap Connect is responsible
for 20 industry-leading exhibitions including the home and
gift market’s Spring and Autumn Fairs.
Emap intends to fast track its international roll-outs and
new launches by combining the strength of its brands with
Mack Brooks estblished international network, distribution
and operations.
Mack Brooks has a track record of over 35 years running
international events and an extensive network of branches
and partners globally.
The newly formed joint-venture has set itself the target of
launching up to 10 new exhibitions during the next two to
three years.
Emap Connect’s chief executive officer, Malcolm Gough,

and growing profitable events globally is second to none,
and we are convinced that this partnership will provide a
great spring board for us to grow our business on a truly
international scale.”
