Trisha Wilson Receives the Inaugural
2006 Women in Design Award
Trisha Wilson, founder and CEO of Dallas-based international
architectural design firm, Wilson Associates, received the
2006 Women in Design Award at a gala luncheon held on December
6 in New York. Presented by VNU Business Media Design Group,
this inaugural award was created to honor talented women who
have made significant contributions to the world of architecture
and design. The 2006 award winners launched the Women in
Design Hall of Fame.
The landmark event was hosted by Norma Kamali, CEO of
Norma Kamali, Inc. Other recipients included Barbara Barry of
Barbara Barry, Inc., Clodagh of Clodagh Design, Kathryn Gustafson
of Gustafson Nichol Ltd, Gisue and Mojgan Hariri of Hariri &
Hariri, Naomi Miller of Naomi Miller Lighting Design, Lauren
Rottet of DMJM Rottet and Suzanne Tick of Suzanne Tick,
Incorporated. Katherine Bragg, senior at Parsons, the New School
of Design, was named as the Rising Star recipient. Legendary
French designer Andree Putnam, of Andree Putnam Designs, was
the recipient of the Icon Award.
“I am so honored to receive this prestigious award,” says Wilson.
“It is a thrill to be recognized by the industry in which I work and
to be counted among these other highly accomplished women.”
