Krannert School <strong>of</strong> Management - Purdue University<br />
Mauricio S. Puente (Coach)<br />
Mauricio Puente is a certified Lean Six Sigma pr<strong>of</strong>essional with<br />
experience in the manufacturing, transactional and service sectors.<br />
He has a track-record <strong>of</strong> being a proven Sensei at all levels <strong>of</strong> a Lean<br />
Six Sigma deployment, capable <strong>of</strong> leading change at the strategic and<br />
tactical levels. He is currently pursuing an <strong>MBA</strong> from the Krannert<br />
School <strong>of</strong> Management at Purdue University, where he has taken on<br />
several leadership roles within the school. His expected graduation<br />

Teresa Taylor Sekine (Coach)<br />
Dr. Teresa Taylor Sekine teaches at Krannert School <strong>of</strong> Management,<br />
where she also is the Area Coordinator for Managerial<br />
Communication. Teresa taught English and Political Science for<br />
five years in Japan. She also taught classes for the United Nations<br />
Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Upon<br />
returning to the states, she completed her Ph.D. in Educational<br />
Leadership at The University <strong>of</strong> Alabama. Her dissertation study<br />
on emerging characteristics <strong>of</strong> female administrators piqued her<br />
interest in gender studies and leadership development. She joined<br />
the Krannert team after a brief stint in Purdue’s English Department.<br />
Having lived in a foreign country herself for several years, Teresa<br />
values and stresses cross-cultural communication and the global<br />
business environment in her classroom. She has won the Krannert<br />
<strong>MBA</strong> Core Teaching Award in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.<br />
Teresa’s research interests include cross-cultural communication,<br />
corporate storytelling, and gender studies. This is Dr. Sekine’s<br />
fourth year to coach the Purdue team at the <strong>John</strong> <strong>Molson</strong> <strong>MBA</strong><br />
<strong>International</strong> <strong>Case</strong> Competition.<br />

Brandon Sturm (Competitor)<br />
Brandon is a second year <strong>MBA</strong> concentrating in Operations and<br />
Supply Chain Management at the Krannert School <strong>of</strong> Management.<br />
He has a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science degree in Industrial Engineering from<br />
Western Michigan University. Brandon worked for twelve years<br />
as a manufacturing engineer for two different metal fabrication<br />
companies, Justrite and Borroughs Corporation. He worked<br />
on projects to improve current production processes as well as<br />
developing new processes. This past summer he interned for<br />
Emerson in Product Planning to reduce SKUs and contribute to a<br />

Aashima Agarwal Jain (Competitor)<br />
Aashima is a second-year <strong>MBA</strong> student concentrating in Strategy,<br />
Finance and <strong>Business</strong> Analytics. She graduated from Indian Institute<br />
<strong>of</strong> Technology (IIT) Delhi with a Director’s medal in 2006 with<br />

a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biochemical engineering and<br />
Biotechnology. She worked in management consulting with KPMG<br />
Advisory Services focusing on projects in process improvement,<br />
business planning, financial modeling, etc. She is a certified Six<br />
Sigma Green Belt. Recently, she interned with the Financial Planning<br />
and Analysis group at United Airlines to provide strategic decision<br />
support to multiple revenue divisions <strong>of</strong> the newly merged company<br />
(with Continental Airlines).<br />

Anja Do (Hai Anh) (Competitor)<br />
Anja is a double degree Graduate student at Krannert School <strong>of</strong><br />
Management and ESCP Europe specialising in Finance and Strategy. In<br />
2009 she graduated from Warwick <strong>Business</strong> School with a Bachelor<br />
<strong>of</strong> Science in Management with honours. She then began working<br />
for HSBC Investment Bank in London on Foreign Exchange, Money<br />
Markets and Commodities desk and then covered risk management<br />
for Treasury, Management Reporting and Reconciliation teams. Last<br />
summer she interned with Bloomberg L.P. in Financial Products Sales<br />
where she provided consulting services for clients on the Bloomberg<br />
terminal, promoted new functions and searched for prospective<br />
clients.<br />

Austin Owens (Competitor)<br />
Austin is a second year <strong>MBA</strong> student at Purdue concentrating<br />
in Finance. He did his undergraduate studies at Montana State<br />
University and spent his time studying finance, chopping firewood<br />
and working as a carpenter. Prior to grad school he worked in a data<br />
management role for a small start-up company while studying for the<br />
CFA exams and most recently worked in the energy industry. Austin<br />
supplements his nerdy love <strong>of</strong> finance with a healthy enjoyment <strong>of</strong><br />
reading, cooking, running and woodworking.<br />

Saurabh Arora (Alternate Competitor)<br />
Saurabh is a first year <strong>MBA</strong> student at Krannert School <strong>of</strong><br />
Management, concentrating in Operations and Strategic<br />
Management. He graduated in 2006 from Punjab Engineering<br />
College (P.E.C), Chandigarh with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics<br />
and Electrical Communication Engineering. He joined Aricent after<br />
his graduation and worked on mobile applications from 2006 to<br />
2008. Then he joined Cisco systems and worked there for 3 years<br />
before coming to Krannert for pursuing his <strong>MBA</strong>. At Cisco Systems,<br />
he was involved with the quality assurance department and focused<br />
on defect management for Cisco products.<br />
