Ruby from Tanzanie
This ring set with a vivid red ruby (5.03ct), originally from Tanzania, is
one of the leading pieces of this Monegasque sale on 8 December
(Hôtel des ventes de Monaco). This item of jewellery will be accompanied
by a certificate attesting to the absence of thermal modification
(€280,000/300,000). In addition to a group of limited-series watches by
the Genevan company Rolex, a Cartier Art Deco bracelet, made around
1925, is part of a set that belonged to Annette Giacometti, the wife of
the famous sculptor. It is set with round-shaped, navette-cut diamonds,
which are highlighted by onyx and emeralds (€30,000/40,000). These
pieces will be sold for the benefit of the artist’s foundation. Additional
sale favourites are these two rings: one is platinum set with a roundshaped
diamond, weighing 5.11 ct and flanked by two traoïda
diamonds (€80,000/100,000), the other also made from platinum set
with a round-shaped “Fancy” coloured diamond, weighing 5.73 ct

Bulgari necklace
This nearly 40-carat Bulgari diamond necklace, the emblem of Artcurial's
upcoming jewellery auction (€100,000/150,000), on 27 and 28
Novembre in Paris, is a dazzling example of the craftsmanship of the
famous Italian luxury goods house founded in 1884, to which Paris
paid tribute in early 2011. Paris is also the location of this auction of
some 700 pieces by Buccellati, Cartier, Chanel, Mauboussin, Van
Cleef & Arpels and of course, Vacheron Constantin with a ladies'
diamond watch set (€100,000/150,000).
