controversial behaviours featur<strong>in</strong>g group sex or a sex orgy, except for the lone rape<br />

case.<br />

In sum, although just 11% (N=20) of portrayals of sexual behaviours <strong>in</strong>cluded<br />

three or more characters, of which only a small m<strong>in</strong>ority were <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> group-sex<br />

and/or advanced <strong>in</strong>timate sexual behaviours, the overwhelm<strong>in</strong>g majority (88%) of<br />

all scenes portray<strong>in</strong>g sexual behaviours <strong>in</strong>volved only two characters, the majority of<br />

whom engaged <strong>in</strong> mild sexual behaviours such as passionate kiss<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong>timate<br />

touch<strong>in</strong>g and physical flirt<strong>in</strong>g and suggestiveness (see Appendix: Table 3.2)—it is<br />

worth not<strong>in</strong>g that differences <strong>in</strong> the distribution of scenes across the two types of<br />

portrayals (talk and behaviour) accord<strong>in</strong>g to the number of characters <strong>in</strong>volved were<br />

found to be statistically significant, with X 2 value of 44.197, df=22, p
