San Francisco made Colin Kaepernick the 36th overall selection
in the 2011 NFL Draft. The former University of Nevada signal caller
spent his rookie season learning the nuances of the NFL game and
the 49ers offense. As the only player in the NCAA history to throw
for over 10,000 yards and rush for over 4,000 yards, Kaepernick
has an excellent work ethic that allows him to make the transition
from the pistol offense he ran in college to the 49ers West Coast
Offense.
// CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
• Recorded the 2 longest runs by a QB in 49ers history with 2, 50-yd.
surpassing QB Steve Young’s 49-yd. TD run vs. Min. (10/30/88).
THE SCOUTING REPORT
“He came in with the right attitude and work ethic and we’ve definitely
seen the maturation, a comfort level of sorts with what we’re doing
and how the game is played. He’s got a lot of natural talent, but it
takes more than that to run an offense and he’s progressed nicely.”
- 49ers Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman
