“He can play the banging game, and he’s a good athlete for a big guy, so he’s a well-rounded player,”<br />

defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said. “He’s the one guy on our front who can play all three spots and<br />

nothing will change with him in there.”<br />

Jean Francois took most of the first-team repetitions in practice this week, given Smith’s elbow injury. And<br />

if the Smith cannot play Sunday night, Jean Francois knows the Seahawks will target him.<br />

“I get that every game,” he said. “Everybody knows Justin Smith is one of the best defensive linemen. If<br />

you’re dealing with a guy who hasn’t played or started, they’re going to do their best to come after me.”
