<strong>Thorsten</strong> <strong>Beck</strong> is Professor of Economics and Chairman of the European Banking<br />

Center at Tilburg University, and a CEPR Research Fellow. His research and policy<br />

work has focused on international banking and corporate finance.<br />

Harry Huizinga is Professor of International Economics in the Department of<br />

Economics at Tilburg University and a CEPR Research Fellow. His main fields of<br />

research are public economics and banking.<br />
