Fort Myer<br />
I want to bring your attention to the continuously<br />
outstanding performance of the meat department<br />
employees at Fort Myer Commissary, Va. I<br />
request special cuts of meat several times each<br />
month, and I have been doing this for years.<br />
Customer service, quality operations and price are all<br />
outstanding. This entire group, from meatcutters to<br />
ladies working at the display case, makes customer<br />
service a priority, and it is second to none. They<br />
always do a great job, and it is such a pleasure to call<br />
in a special order and use this service – it makes you<br />
want to use the <strong>com</strong>missary. They make everything<br />
look easy, but you know that is not the case. Each and<br />
every time I place an order, to include those placed<br />
on short notice, it’s perfectly cut and ready at the<br />
requested time. All the department employees are<br />
involved in making this a standout operation – and it<br />
is just that.<br />

After 26 years in the Army, I am<br />
retiring with sincere gratitude<br />
for the many who have made<br />
my career so enjoyable. One<br />
of those persons is Saewha<br />
Bush, supervisory store<br />
checker at Camp Humphreys<br />
Commissary, South Korea. She<br />
has made shopping a pleasure<br />
during my three years here. Our Saewha Bush<br />
<strong>com</strong>missary is very nice – the<br />
food is fresh and the prices are low. It’s the happy,<br />
friendly employees who make the <strong>com</strong>missary a<br />
great place, though. The front-end employees are<br />
where customer service really shines. From the ID<br />
card check to checkout, the entire experience is<br />

efficient and friendly. Often it takes just one<br />
person to make a difference in creating this<br />
type of working and shopping environment,<br />
and I have observed that person to be Saewha.<br />
Her courteous, respectful and cheerful nature<br />
is nothing short of infectious. She always<br />
puts a smile on my face. Saewha Bush is truly<br />
exceptional and deserves recognition.<br />

Offutt<br />
I would like to recognize Sunny Fay, store<br />
associate, at the Offutt Commissary, Neb. My<br />
wife and I needed help in finding two items normally<br />
stocked, but not on the shelf for a few weeks. Sunny<br />
was proactive and asked if we needed help. She took<br />
the details and was off to find a solution. In a short<br />
while, she returned with an answer. She was super.<br />
Very rarely do we find such enthusiastic, courteous<br />
and professional people. Please extend to her our<br />
sincere appreciation and the fact that her efforts did<br />
not go unappreciated.<br />

I have <strong>com</strong>e to know Mary Lilia<br />
Garces, sales store clerk, at<br />
Misawa Commissary, Japan,<br />
over the past couple of years, and<br />
I believe she brings a rare gift to<br />
this place. She is humble, and<br />
she orchestrates profound, open<br />
and meaningful conversations<br />
with fellow employees and<br />
Mary Lilia Garces customers of all ages. She knows<br />
how to raise and address issues of<br />
concern. I have seen how she handles everyone, and<br />
she is always tuned in to how another person may feel<br />
in a given situation. People really seem to trust and<br />
rely on her. She is consistently pleasant while tackling<br />
her duties. She always has a warm, bright smile<br />
when I approach her. Lilly is organized, efficient and<br />
extremely <strong>com</strong>petent. Her supportive, considerate<br />
nature, along with her hardworking attitude, make<br />
her a fine, well-balanced person with an abundance<br />
of positive qualities.<br />

During my visit today to MacDill Commissary,<br />
Fla., Marty Ruiz, sales store checker, was stationed<br />
at the self-checkout area. I must admit, she is truly<br />
a very special person. I was impressed with her<br />
great attitude and pleasant demeanor. She displayed<br />
remarkable memorization of several produce items’<br />
bar codes when I had a problem. Not only that,<br />
she was attentive, prompt, cordial and respectful
